The Beginning
A Savage Tale (Alternate)
In Sunset Ridge where the sidewalks were perpetually cracked and the street lamps flickered with a lazy rhythm, there lived a girl named Ellie. Ellie was petite, 18 and had the kind of beauty that didn't demand attention but rather whispered for it, a softness that could make anyone lean in closer just to hear the secrets she kept. Her eyes were the color of a stormy sea, and her hair fell in waves of blonde that danced in the breeze like ballerinas.
On a sweltering afternoon, Ellie sat in her favorite spot, nestled in the shade of a giant oak tree, her knees pulled to her chest, her thoughts as scattered as the leaves that littered the ground beneath her. Her eyes were glued to the house across the street, where her boyfriend, Jake, lived with his mother and her new husband. It was a house that looked as tired as the town itself, with peeling paint and a front porch that sagged. The only thing that made it stand out was the rusty old truck parked haphazardly in the driveway, a relic from a time when the world wasn't so tired.
The screen door squealed open, and a figure emerged from the shadows of the house. It was Dan, Jake's stepbrother. He was the kind of boy who could blend into the wallpaper at school, but here, under the unforgiving sun, his presence was undeniable. His stocky frame filled the doorway, and Ellie couldn't help but feel a pang of something she couldn't quite put her finger on. He had a way of moving that was both awkward and graceful, like a bear learning to dance.
"Hey, Ellie," Dan called out, his voice gruff but not unkind. Ellie looked up from her daydreams, her heart skipping a beat. Dan's eyes, found hers, and she felt a strange jolt of electricity. She'd seen him around before, of course, but they'd never really talked. Jake had never liked the idea of his girlfriend spending too much time with his stepbrother, a fact that Ellie had always found oddly intriguing.
"Hi, Dan," she called back, her voice as sweet as a sugar-coated cherry. He ambled over, his t-shirt sticking to his broad chest in the heat. He stopped a few feet away, kicking at a rock with the toe of his worn-out sneaker. "What's up?" she asked, trying to sound casual despite the sudden rush of blood to her cheeks.
Ellie nodded, her eyes flicking over him. There was something about the way he looked at her that made her feel like the most important person in the world. "What do you usually do?" she asked, genuinely curious.
Dan kicked the rock again, looking down at the ground. "I watch porn," he mumbled, hanging his head like he was expecting judgment.
Suddenly, Ellie's interest piqued. She'd heard rumors about Dan's kinks, whispers that painted him as a bit of an outsider. But here he was, sharing his deepest secret with her, the girl who was supposed to be off-limits. She felt a thrill at the thought of being the one to bring him out of his shell.
"Porn?" she said, raising an eyebrow. "What kind?"
