Back at the lab with Bishop

Alyssa led Bishop back to the lab, where Loretta and Mark were astonished to see the boss of the resort saunter into their abode. They immediately fell over themselves trying to impress Bishop, who waved a hand in dismissal, telling them to just treat like anyone else. That seemed to calm the two scientists down a bit.

Alyssa went to change into a less intense outfit, after getting dismissed by Mark. She changed into a one piece swimsuit with a cropped jacket left unzipped over top.

When she returned, Bishop was deep in conversation with Loretta and Mark, and explaining how interested she was in the experiment and wanted to give them extra funding. "I want you to explore the potential of this. I know you two can lack some initiative in that area, but hopefully your test subject over there can find some way that we can use this to not only increase revenue for the resort but also to create a new experience."

Bishop soon dismissed herself, and explained that she would be unavailable for a couple of weeks, due to a bet she had done with a reporter. But when she was back, she'd see what the lab had come up with and decide whether to mass produce their tech. Loretta and Mark thanked Bishop profusely and showed her out. Alyssa sat down and had something to eat as she waited for them to come back. When they did, they were grinning from ear to ear. They both removed their lab coats, revealing their white swimsuits underneath.

"That's Bishop! The head of the resort!" Mark announced. "How did you find her?"

"I kind of just stumbled across her. Just lucky, I guess."

"You can say that again," Loretta sat down at the desk opposite Alyssa. "This could be our big break! We just need to be creative with the bands!"

Mark joined the women at the table. "So I guess you should give us a report of what caught her attention."

"We did a photo shoot," Alyssa explained. "There was this journalist woman. "She's probably going to publish the photos somewhere."

Loretta and Mark looked at each other, giddy with excitement. "The best exposure we could have possibly gotten," Loretta cheered.

"It was mostly me being fully headless, vanished instead of detached, then I was just a lower half, then Bishop reduced me to just my tits."

"Oh we were not expecting you to got that far this early!"

"Neither was I."

"How did it feel?" Mark leaned in.

"It was...weird," Alyssa decided to be truthful about her experience. She had no reason not to. "It was maybe dangerous."

"Dangerous?"

"Well, the longer I was limbless, the more light headed I felt. It was like...this is going to sound silly, but it felt like I was forgetting about my missing parts."

Mark scribbled furiously in a notebook. "Interesting."

"You know what happened?"

"Yes, we thought this may happen."

"YOU DID?" Alyssa was taken aback.

"We theorized it. This is our first time actually experiencing it."

Loretta chipped in to clarify. "Your body is trying to make sense of its new form. It needs to reduce some of your brain functions while its vanished. The longer it goes on, the more intense it will get."

"Is it permanent?" Alyssa asked.

"Oh heavens no. Your brain will resume its normal operations when your limbs reappear."

"I see."

"We theorize that the process would speed up the more your are reduced, or if you spend an extended period of time without a limb. So when you're just a pair of boobs for example, your brain will partition itself faster."

"And then what happens?"

Mark took over. "Your body will be convinced that it never had arms or legs. Or a head. Your body will basically gaslight itself into thinking that everything is normal. It can potentially create an issue because you will forget to turn the rings back to restore yourself."

"Is there any way to stop it."

"Hopefully the rings will stop that form happening completely."

Alyssa bit her lip. A very dangerous thought came to her mind. "What if you took off the bands?"

Mark and Loretta stopped taking notes and raised an eyebrow at Alyssa. "Well uh, it would result in what we just described."

"I want to test it."

"Absolutely not. Its too dangerous."

"Please? I won't go the whole way, I'll do it gradually, along with the other testing. But you wanted me to be creative. The thought of being in that state is...I hate to admit it, but its alluring. We should at least look into it."

Loretta and Mark leaned in and whispered to each other. They eventually nodded and turned to Alyssa. "Okay. You can test this effect alongside the other testing we will get you to do."

"That's not all," Alyssa continued. "I also have an idea towards design."

"Design, what do you mean?"

"Loretta, are you busy?"

"I'm not."

"Then come with me. I want to check somewhere."
