What do you find?

Phone

Chapter 3 by Elham

I sat in my room, staring at the strange package lying in front of me. It was addressed to me. It had arrived this afternoon by courier. Stranger still – the shipment was already fully paid for. I didn't understand any of it. Unlike my brother, I didn't waste money on childish contests that only scammed people. Yet here the package was. With my address. With my name. Everything matched. I sighed heavily and opened it. Inside was a white box, and in it – a phone. The moment I grabbed it, I felt a terrifying dizziness – as if someone had hit me with a crowbar. I don't know if the pain lasted seconds or minutes. It left as quickly as it came. When I regained clarity of thought, everything became clear to me. This strange phone had imparted knowledge, though I understood little of it. Apparently, I could edit all of reality with it. It sounded ridiculous, but it wouldn't hurt to try. I turned it on. A simple text field and keyboard appeared on the screen. I thought for a moment, then typed:

"Ryder Knox has the body of a well-built athlete."

I pressed "send". I waited a minute, then two – and nothing. I didn't feel any change.

- Stupid joke. - I muttered, put the phone down, and headed for the door.

As I passed the mirror, I froze in my tracks. My slim, slender body had been replaced with that of a marathon runner. I wasn't a mountain of muscles like my brother, but plenty of people would envy my physique. I stripped down to my boxers and for a long moment watched my perfectly sculpted muscles, flexing them in disbelief. Strange memories began crossing my mind. Of myself running every morning. I looked at the shelf above my desk – several marathon medals gleamed there.

My gaze shifted to the phone.

It actually worked. It had literally rewritten all of reality according to what I wrote. I walked back to my desk and sat down. For a long time, I stared at the unassuming device that granted me nothing less than godlike power.
