Chapter 70
by
Yelawolf
You...
Walk back to join your wife
You head back to Ava, your mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. You find her sitting at the table, sipping her iced tea with a thoughtful expression. She looks up as you approach, a small smile playing on her lips.

"You were gone a while," she says, her tone light but with an undercurrent of curiosity. "Everything okay?"
You nod, trying to **** a smile. "Yeah, everything's fine," you lie, the words tasting like ash in your mouth. "Just had to take care of something."
Ava studies you for a moment, her eyes narrowing slightly. She's always been perceptive, and you can't help but wonder if she can see through your facade. But then she shrugs and takes another sip of her tea, letting it go. "Well, I'm glad you're back. I was starting to get worried."
You sit down across from her, the weight of your guilt pressing down on you like a physical burden. You can still feel Kendra's heat on your skin, the memory of her body wrapped around yours a ghost that refuses to fade. The image of Jason's face, twisted in shock and betrayal, plays over and over in your mind.

Ava reached out to touch your hand, her fingers tracing small circles on your skin. "You seem... distant," she said softly, her eyes searching yours. "Is something bothering you?"
"No... Not anymore. I think I saw Kendra and Jason relationship be broken. I think Alina got her teeth back into him." You putting the blame on the sexy little slut. You take a deep breath, trying to push away the image of Alina's triumphant smile.
Ava's expression morphs into one of genuine shock. Her hand stills on yours, her eyes wide. "What? No, they seemed so happy together. Are you sure?"
"I just saw them," you say, your voice steadier now that you're deflecting. "Looked like a pretty nasty breakup. Kendra was... with someone else. Jason saw it. Alina was there, swooping in like a vulture." You're twisting the truth, but the core of it is there, a half-truth that's easier to swallow than the full, ugly reality.
Ava shakes her head slowly, processing the information. "Wow. I... I didn't see that coming. Kendra seemed so... sincere."
"Gold diggers can be very convincing," you say, the words leaving a bitter taste. You're thinking of Kendra, but also of Alina, and of yourself. You're all playing a game, and the lines between predator and prey have become dangerously blurred. You feel a chill despite the warm restaurant air, the cold realization of how far you've fallen seeping into your bones.
"Poor Jason," Ava murmurs, her brow furrowed with concern. "First Alina, now this. He's got terrible luck with women."
You want to laugh at the irony, but you just nod, taking a long sip of your water. You hope your cheating doesn't explode into your face.
Do you go on a shopping spree with Ava or excuse yourself to find Alina and Jason again or perhaps head to the bathrooms?
