ALICE Ch 393

Adella returns to the room and grabs her phone. She checks the group chat that she and Riley share with Annette. Nothing. Only Annette has her phone because Riley has nowhere to put hers, but she was supposed to give an update so that Adella would know how to proceed.

Her instincts tell her that she can’t just wait around. Carrying her phone, she doesn’t even bother to change. She leaves the room in her bold, red, designer jumpsuit and heads for the stairs.

A room key lies on the pleasing green carpet outside the door at the very end of the corridor. These end rooms are the biggest that the Shigeno has to offer, and this is where Annette and Riley were headed. Frowning, Glynda picks up the card. No one from FUTA is supposed to be on this floor. Irina Orlova tried to initiate a sexual relationship with Alice; is she doing something like that again? Is that why Riley was with that amazon? Maybe it’s the drinks, but Glynda can’t quite wrap her head around it.

There’s a quiet noise behind her that makes her pause, but the hallway is empty. Only a little drunk, she swipes the card and opens the door, leaning in cautiously.

Alice fights back tears of pain. She’s no ninja, and in her mind, sneaking means pressing one’s back against the wall and peering around like in movies. Those people usually don’t have severely burned backs, though. Mistakes were made. Cursing on the inside, she opens one eye and peeks around the corner. Glynda’s gone. This is the top floor, and those are the biggest suites in the hotel. What the hell is Glynda doing in there? This is so weird.

Alice steps into the open and smooths her yukata, checks the flower in her hair, then pads down the hallway. It is a little ghoulish how much she’s looking forward to seeing the look on Glynda’s face in this confrontation. It doesn’t actually matter what’s going on up here; Alice will think of some off-the-wall way to scold her for it and hopefully embarrass her in front of whoever she’s with. Will it make up for the season she’s had? No. But it’ll be funny.

She reaches the door and knocks. There’s a long pause before it opens, and Alice is already stepping through before she sees what’s going on.

Glynda sits beside Annette and Riley on the bed. They all look nervous. Riley wears the sexiest little black dress that Alice has ever seen, and Annette is looking incredible for a woman of her age in some Valentine’s Day-grade lingerie.

One of Irina’s amazons looms over them. Another is beside Alice. They look serious.

“Hey, guys. Missed you. I know Colby does, too,” Alice tells them. She cocks her head. “How come Glynda’s got her clothes on? Actually, with the white chicks on the bed and you guys looking all jacked and serious, it kinda reminds me of this old meme. Hey! Ow!”
