Deja vu?

You stare down at the Medicham who does the same to you. As you look over her body, you do see that she looks bruised, but her face doesn’t show signs of fatigue. You showed you were getting tired sooner than her. It’s clear that she’s a skilled foe. You’re back at your top conduction, but that’s because of Melanie, who is **** right now. You can’t expect her to help you again, and there’s no telling if Neku and Felix would arrive on time. If they even do… You close your eyes to **** that

You saw that Valorie’s face formed a smile on it. “You look anxious. Looks like your body knows what your brain is ignoring.”

“Yeah, and what’s that?!” You asked, gritting your teeth.

“If you look that way even after she healed you, you can’t defeat me!” she announced.

“Well then you’ll be sorely disappointed when I prove you wrong!” You launch towards her, moving so fast she can’t keep up and you strike her in the chest. She grunted from the impact, but she caught herself with her foot as she moved her body forward, arm swinging towards you, but you leaped up into the air, moving out of the way as her punch struck the floor, leaving a small crevice in its place.

Taking this opportunity, you harden your tail during your descent and you front flip yourself in order to strike her head. Valorie unfortunately managed to catch your iron tail with her arm, though the impact of the strike cracked the small area under the Medicham. You struggle to push past her arm in order to connect, but she knocks it away and you catch the sight of her fist connecting to your belly, a deep cold surrounding your belly as you were sent flying some distance away to the ground.

You landed on your back, groaning from the impact of the ground as well as the pain and coldness in your gut. You got up and took a moment to feverishly rub the spot to warm it up, feeling the cold going away and started lifting yourself up. Just as you placed your paw on the side to lift yourself up, you felt light trembling from it, feeling like something was quivering from the other side.

But you remember what was going on as you looked and saw Valorie was bulking herself up before she charged forward towards you and leaped up into the air, coming towards you with her knee out. You impulsively launched a thundershock at her which connected and made her cry out in pain, but she powers through and in the next thing you know, you felt her attack at your chest, hitting you into the wall, forcing air out of your mouth.

She used her other leg to kick off the wall, backflipping onto the floor as you fell onto the ground, wincing from great pain from the attack.

“Heh, is that the best you can do? You fought back our head priest, but you can’t handle me?”

“D-Dammit!” You muttered, feeling the brittle underground walls moving off of your body. Before you could get onto your knees, the area around you two started to shake and tremble. You urgently looked around, feeling a sense of foreboding as you felt the tremors were growing more violent. Valorie grows fearful at what was going on as she looked at both you and Melanie and then closed her eyes, and in the next second she disappears.

Seeing the Medicham disappeared, you struggled to get up faster, but just as you were about to stand, you hear sounds of crashes as you turn and look in horror as the tunnel you all came from was collapsing and you could just see the roof above you cracking and you let out a scream as the roof collapsed and everything went dark.

You felt your consciousness returning and when you tried to open your eyes, your vision is dark. You can’t see anything, not even your own paws. Immense pain runs through your entire body and you find yourself unable to move.

‘I must… be buried underneath…’ You thought, coughing from the dust nearing my mouth. ‘I can’t move… the dirt… so heavy…’ It was a struggle to breathe, you already feel your vision starting to fade once more.

‘N-No… this can’t… be the end…’ You thought, eyes already starting to close.

Just as you expect the worst, you heard faint scuffling right in front of you. Your eyes went wide, maybe someone came back to check up on you to see if you made it. You try to move, but your arm is completely still despite your best efforts.

You saw a bit of light shining from the crack as it became bigger. As you try to stare out, you find your vision is still too blurry, but you register someone touching you. It felt soft and you can pick up a faint floral scent as you felt it move to your hand. When it does, you manage to weakly squeeze it and you can see in blurred vision as something comes into view. You couldn’t make out who it was, you noticed a pinkish color.

“Dear Arceus, you’re in such terrible shape.” A voice spoke out, sounded young and feminine. “Poor Raichu…”

“H…Help…” You muttered weakly, fighting to stay conscious.

“Don’t worry, leave this to me. Just think how far back you want to go.”

“H-Huh…?” You asked confused at what she meant as you thought about when you were laying on the floor from Valorie’s Ice Punch.

Your vision suddenly grows white and your senses fading.

“You show promise Rai, but you must show me more. I’ll be watching your journey to see what you can do.”

“Wait, how do you know my name?” You stated as the vision was nearly blinding you. “Who are you?!”

“I’ll reveal myself to you if you prove yourself… Until then, consider me your group’s guardian angel…” the voice spoke as you lost all sense of your surroundings.

The next thing you knew, you felt a deep piercing cold at your belly. You quickly used your paws to rub the spot in order to be rid of the frigid chill. After that was dealt with, you realized just how familiar the situation was. How you placed your paw against the wall and felt tremors from it.

You looked and saw that Valorie was bulking herself up in preparation for an attack.

‘She’s going to use High-Jump Kick to attack!’ You thought to yourself, getting up and running towards her, generating electricity though your body. Before you got close however, she jumped up into the air, preparing to slam into you with your knee.

However, you weren’t going to get caught by that a second time as you moved out of the way, feeling the ground shake as she slammed her knee into the ground. Her screams echoed the surrounding area as she held the knee that took the blunt of the impact.

You tense up as you look around quickly to see how things are. While you do feel tremors, it doesn’t get much worse than this. But you still look worried that this isn’t going to take much more than that without causing a cave in.

‘I better not use so many physical attacks.’ You thought seeing that she’s on the floor. Just then, you felt a cold chill running down your spine. ‘H-how did I know that she would’ve used Hi-Jump Kick against me?’ You thought, having never felt like you would anticipate an attack before they used it. There's no time for you to think about it more as you see Valorie starting to get up from her bad landing, so you gathered electricity and let loose a thunder shock at her. Her body lit up as electricity coursed through her.

Valorie stumbled as she slowly got up. Her knee was buckling a bit from the bad landing, her heavy panting and the bruises are finally taking their toll on her.

“How…” you hear her mutter through her whisper. “How can some goddamn rat be so stubborn?!”

“As if I lose to the likes of you!” You responded back to her.

“I won’t lose…!” She muttered as you saw her get up to one knee, “I won’t lose to the likes of you!” She then fired a Psybeam at you. It was too fast for you to move out of the way, but you did manage to get your guard up.

“No small town, nosy, self righteous, fat Raichu is going to get the best of me!” Valorie stated, intensifying her attack, making your arms shake in pain as you try to endure it, feeling your hind paws dig into the dirt trying to stand your ground. You can barely keep your eyes open as you see the Medicham grinning wildly at your struggles.
