Monica and the Paper

When Monica took over the school paper of her college, nobody took it serious. Who cared about a student paper? What were they going to report on, drama in the quad? What nobody suspected was Monica's genuine, cutthroat ambition. She took her journalist major seriously, and quickly went to work.

She totally revamped the paper, giving it a strong online social media presence. Her efforts inspired the other student reporters, and they were all inspired to follow her dogged style. And Monica knew what people wanted to read about- they wanted scandals, they wanted drama.

So Monica and her fellow student journalists began writing scathing exposes. Not about the students- the paper focused it's ire on the school itself. They revealed multiple, genuinely shocking scandals. A student/teacher affair that had been covered up. Falsifying records. Misappropriating funds. Nobody knew Monica's sources, but she exposed scandal after Scandal.

As you would expect, these stories were shocking, and received a great deal of attention for the student paper. Some even were reported on national news. They also caused untold drama for the Dean of the school. Even though she was never specifically outed from any of these stories, they made her administration appear corrupt and incompetent. There were countless lectures, and humiliating grillings in front of the school board and the community. Soon, Dean Diana Blackburn's job was on the line. Her 401k was at stake. And it was all thanks to this damn girl Monica and her cursed paper...
