The Crash and Your Party

The helm is in sight, but so was something else. A cambion, and he was hot. His sword, too, but you have no way to get it out of his hands. Or any time. Lae'zel immediately runs to the helm to get you out of there.

You wake up at a beach, hoping this isn't a recurring thing for adventures. Hells, you were on an adventure, like the heros you sang about. Maybe this was your chance to not be treated worse than scum by those who knew you. To make a name for yourself. You start going through the bodies of the mangled fisherman around you for supplies. Survival came first.

"Blasted door!" Oh look, it's the cleric. Great. "Hey" you say approaching her, guard up for when she attacks you. "Stop," she says turning around. "Oh, it's you, from the ship. At least you tried to free me." Sure, let's go with tried. You definitely didn't find the key and ingore her.

Your head spins as you feel what you did with Lae'zel happen again. You see your self, and feel the confusion she feels, as well as her relief. She's in the same boat as you. And that relief, it came from seeing you. Alliances have been made from less, and between bigger enemies. She intouces herself as Shadowheart, a weird name but you also chose your name as a teen. Even if River is more normal.

You fight through a few devourers and come across a pale elf. "One of those brain things is in the grass, kill it, like you did the others." A classic scam, 'look over there while I steal from you'. "You look capable enough to take it yourself," you say, turning your back on him. A bad idea, as he pulls a knife on you. You roll away.

"You were on the ship, strutting about. What did you do to me?" His voice rings out. Before you speak, your head twits again. You see a familiar sight, but not through your eyes, the streets of Baldur's Gate, full of people at night. You can feel his fear, especially now, with all that's happening. You get a better look at him and, with his bloodshot eyes and pale skin, you would guess he was a vampire if it weren't for the fact that he is standing in broad daylight.

"What was that?" He asks, pointing his knife at you.

"Put that away, and I might tell you"

"It's got to do with those monsters. They did something to me. They same thing they did to you. I saw it during... whatever that was. Apologies." He says, putting it away. "And to think I was ready to split you open and decorate the ground with your insides." "Apology accepted, you respond. "I might have done the same if the roles were reversed." He introduces himself as Astarion, a fellow Baldurian. After introductions, you decide to team up.
