Chapter 2-Rising to the Occasion
Continued from chapter 1:
Noticing my tension, Dr. Reed pauses and offers me a reassuring smile.
“Try to relax, Ero. Holding your breath like that isn’t helping.”
She places a comforting hand on my shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“Remember, I’m here to help, not to judge. There’s no need to be self-conscious.”
Her thumb absently rubs small circles on my skin, the touch soothing despite its brief duration. She resumes her abdominal check, her movements slow and methodical.
“How’s this pressure? Any discomfort?”
Her free hand rests on my hip, steadying herself as she leans over me. The position brings her face closer, allowing me to catch a glimpse of her long, dark lashes and the delicate dusting of freckles adorning her nose—details I hadn’t noticed before.
My arousal stirs, and I will it not to rise. Her hands, warm and gentle on my abdomen, send electric shivers through me. I squirm involuntarily.
“The pressure is fine. No discomfort—yet, outside of having someone so beautiful touch me so intimately,” I admit.
Dr. Olivia Reed notices my slight squirming and glances up, concern replacing her previous focus.
“Is everything alright, Ero? You seem a bit restless.”
Chapter 2:
Her hand halts on my abdomen as she studies me intently, her head tilted slightly, a mix of professionalism and curiosity flashing in her eyes.
“Remember, it’s important to communicate any sensations or reactions during the exam, even if they seem... unusual.”
Despite her clinical tone, the glimmer of awareness in her gaze creates undeniable tension in the air between us. The weight of her gentle touch on my hip feels almost deliberate.
“Dr. Reed, I’m so sorry. I’m trying not to be restless or distracted, but you are a lot different than Dr. Hamel. I don’t know what to say. It’s not your fault; it’s mine.”
I feel a flush of embarrassment admitting this to a woman who genuinely cares about my well-being. I pause for a moment, grappling with my thoughts. She hasn’t asked me to feel this way about her; she can’t be blamed for being both beautiful and a doctor.
Dr. Reed's expression softens with understanding, a gentle smile curving her lips.
“Oh, Ero, please don’t apologize. These kinds of physical responses are completely normal, especially during a close interaction like this.”
Her voice is low and soothing, laced with reassurance.
“It’s not your fault at all. Attraction and arousal are natural human responses that we can’t always control, particularly when we’re feeling **** or overwhelmed.”
She meets my gaze steadily, her green eyes warm and nonjudgmental.
“What matters most is that we communicate openly and honestly with each other. If at any point you feel uncomfortable or need me to adjust my approach, please tell me. Your comfort and consent are paramount.”
“Well, uncomfortable wouldn’t be the word I would use, Dr. Reed. Quite the opposite, actually.” I offer a self-deprecating grin.
A light blush colors Dr. Reed's cheeks at my admission, but her composure remains largely intact. She clears her throat softly, a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
“I see. Well, I’m glad you feel comfortable enough to express that, Ero. Honesty is always the best policy between a doctor and patient.”
She shifts her position slightly, crossing one long leg over the other as she considers me thoughtfully.
“However, while I appreciate your candor, I want to ensure we maintain a proper professional boundary. My role is to provide medical care and guidance, not to encourage or act upon any romantic or sexual feelings, understandable as they may be.”
Her gaze is direct and unwavering, holding my eyes as if searching for sincerity.
“Does that make sense?”
I lower my eyes, feeling the weight of the moment.
“Yes. Perfect sense. I’m sorry, Dr. Reed.”
Dr. Reed reaches out, gently tilting my chin up with two fingers, encouraging me to meet her gaze once more. Her touch is feather-light and fleeting yet electric, igniting a spark of connection I can’t ignore.
“Please don't apologize, Ero. There's no shame in having feelings, even if they're not entirely appropriate given our dynamic.”
Her voice is soft but firm, laced with warmth that belies the professional distance she's attempting to maintain.
“I understand the complexity of human attraction better than most. It's part of why I chose this field—to help people navigate all aspects of their well-being, including the emotional and psychological.”
She takes a step back, putting a bit more space between our bodies, but her expression remains compassionate.
“Let's focus on completing your physical exam, shall we?”
“Yes, please,” I reply, grateful to be moving on from this absolutely mortifying exchange.
Dr. Reed nods, seeming relieved to shift the focus back to the task at hand. She retrieves a tongue depressor and a small flashlight from a nearby drawer.
“Alright, let's check your throat now. Say 'ahh' for me, Ero.”
She positions the tongue depressor carefully, her other hand cupping my jawline with surprising gentleness. As she peers into my mouth, her brow furrows slightly in concentration, the light from the flashlight casting interesting shadows across her face. After a thorough inspection, she withdraws the implement and steps back, making a note on my chart.
“Everything looks healthy and clear in there. Just a few more things to check, and then we’ll be all done.”
She glances up at me, a small, reassuring smile on her lips.
“You're handling this like a champ, by the way.”
I smile shyly and say nothing.
Noticing my shy smile, Dr. Reed's own smile widens slightly, her eyes crinkling at the corners with genuine warmth.
“No need for words, Ero. A smile says it all.”
She caps her pen and sets the clipboard aside, turning her full attention back to me.
Her gaze sweeps over my reclining form, taking in the play of muscles beneath my skin, the rapid flutter of my pulse at my throat. She seems to hesitate for just a moment, an unreadable expression flickering across her face before she schools her features into a neutral mask once more.
“For the final part of the exam, I'll need you to disrobe fully. Don’t worry, I’ll step out and allow you some privacy to change into the gown provided.”
She gestures to a folded hospital gown on a nearby shelf.
“This is where I make a total fool of myself,” I think to myself.
When Dr. Reed leaves, I undress, folding my pants next to the shirt on the counter. I lay my underwear and socks on top and dress in the gown. It parts in the back to expose my backside and nether region to the cool, clinical air in the examination room. With much trepidation, I return to the examination table and have a seat.
After a brief knock, Dr. Reed re-enters the exam room, her heels clicking softly against the tile. She pauses for a moment, taking in the sight of me seated on the table, the thin fabric of the gown doing little to conceal my form. A faint blush stains her cheeks, quickly masked by her professional demeanor.
“Very good, Ero. Please lie back for me now.”
Her voice is steady, but there’s a slight huskiness to it that wasn’t present before. She moves to stand beside the table, her hip brushing against my arm as she reaches for a bottle of lubricant.
“I’m going to perform a prostate exam now, which is standard for men your age. I’ll explain each step as I go along.”
My eyes go wide in shock.
“P-prostate? Isn’t that where you...?” I can’t get the last words out. I don’t want to.
Dr. Reed nods, her expression serene and professional despite the intimate nature of the upcoming procedure.
“Yes, Ero, that’s correct. A digital rectal exam is an important part of a comprehensive physical for men. It allows me to check the health of your prostate gland.”
She pours a generous amount of lubricant onto her gloved finger, the slick sound echoing in the quiet room.
“I know it can feel a bit embarrassing, but I assure you, it’s a routine part of preventive care.”
She meets my wide-eyed gaze, her green eyes soft with reassurance.
“I’ll be as gentle as possible. Just try to relax and take deep breaths. You’re safe with me.”
“Ummm, okay, where do you want me?”
My arousal is undeniable, and I can feel my body responding in ways I can't control. I try to look anywhere but down.
“On your left side is fine, Ero. Draw your knees up towards your chest.”
She waits patiently as I maneuver into position, the flimsy gown riding up to expose my rear. Dr. Reed takes a deep breath, steeling herself before stepping closer.
“Remember, this is purely clinical. I'm here to assess your health, nothing more.”
With that, she begins to gently separate my cheeks, her other hand guiding her lubricated finger towards its destination.
