What's Tomorrow Look Like?
At the Convention
Stepping up to the Boise Centre, the location of the convention, your entire harem is pretty excited to enter. You honestly don't know what to expect, but you're pretty excited to find out.
Already, it seems like a lot of people are cosplaying, which lets you get a pretty good idea, you think, of what exactly is going to be inside. You’re all looking fantastic, especially the girls, who are all wearing clothes you got for them the day before. Thankfully you already got your tickets online, so now all you have to do is enter.
“So, what’s everyone looking forward to?” You ask, waiting in line to get inside.
Sophie is the first to respond, “I- I want to see if they have any um, imported books. Like, Japanese ones. I looked online and it seemed like one of the vendors sold that kind of stuff.”
Sabrina goes next, “Well, I wanna make sure that Sophie has a great time. Does that sound good, lil sis?”
Sophia smiles and hugs Sabrina, which makes you pretty happy to see, “We’ll do our best to get that stuff. And you can let me know about all the stuff you’d like to look through.”
Sophie nods and then Ashley says, “I just wanna see some cute cosplayers, y’know?” Her face is a little red from blushing.
“Yeah, I don't think that’ll be too hard,” Mom tells her, “Well, I want to find someone else that Erik owns.”
“Oh yeah, totally,” Jodi agrees, “That seems like it should just always be a priority.”
“Yeah, I guess. Just look out for anyone who’s really pretty, like you all are,” You tell them, getting now that they have to understand your ownership as universal, for some reason.
Jodi punches you in the arm and smirks, “Easy with the compliments, okay?”
You roll your eyes and then the line moves up and the conversation breaks.
Eden then says, “I’d like to meet some artists. Hopefully there are some good ones, you know?”
“Yeah, it seems like there’ll probably be some, considering I don't think a lot of Boise artists get to travel all over all the time,” You say, “And I guess I'm just looking forward to like… seeing what's going on.”
“And obviously we’ll follow you everywhere, sweetie,” Mom says, hugging you from behind. She specifically pushes her breasts into your back so you can feel them pressing up against you.
“Sure,” you say, before finally getting to go inside.
The first area of the convention center is just a hallway where you can go upstairs to some conference rooms, where panels might be held, and the big ballroom where all of the artists and vendors and special guests have set up.
You immediately take everyone in there and, by trying to find the areas without a crazy crowd, end up in artist alley. The con actually isn't that packed, and it looks like most of the people are just going to find celebrity voice actors or cosplayers who are all in the back, which creates congestion in the middle walkway, so even with your whole big group, you're doing pretty good.
Artist alley is filled with both fan artists for video games and anime and stuff like that, alongside comic artists who are making some extra money by selling prints of their work.
You tell everyone, “If you wanna get anything, let me know we’ll use Mom’s card to buy…” then you made a realization that you or her probably should have thought of before.
“Mom, does Dad have access to the account on this card?” You ask, holding up a card that you had used a lot for the shopping trip the previous day.
“Uh… oh. Yes. He would.” She says, suddenly realizing the same thing. He can track you through your purchases. You had almost forgotten about that car at the end of the parking lot when you grabbed all that food. The feeling that you were being watched hasn't gone away since then and that might be why.
You honestly don't know what your dad was capable of. He’s always had a crazy temper, but that was before you took his entire family away from him. He might be tracking you down to do something dangerous.
You fold the card in half, which snaps it in two and then toss one half in the trash, “We won't use it anymore. Money's not really an object anyway. Jodi, can we use your card for now?”
“Sure boss,” she says.
And you pull her close, asking her, “Can you be on the lookout for someone following us?”
“Of course.”
For whatever reason, she was able to bring in her wooden stake, with just a little bit of neon tape stuck around it, so she shouldn't be without weapons or anything.
“Okay, let's go find some art that we like!” you say, finally starting down the lane of artist alley.
There are a lot of pictures of beautifully drawn characters from all kinds of things, and you see quite a few that you enjoy. Unfortunately, if you got everything you wanted, you’d probably have to get a semi truck to haul everything with you for the rest of your road trip, so you hold off a little bit, until Sophie speaks up.
“Wait, that art looks really cool!” she says, running a little down the way to a corner booth. The art all looks original, or maybe the artist makes indie comics or something. They're all very inky black and white drawings of women in different cool action scenes. Some kung fu stuff, some Matrixy looking leather-clad people in a shootout. There are also a couple prints from what look like superhero comic variant covers, some of which are also colored.
The art is very grimey and filled with shadow, but the characters are all beautifully composed with great line work and posing. You can tell why Sophie got excited to go look at it.
Walking up to the table, you stand behind Sophie as she considers anything she’d wanna get. It's only then that you actually get a good look at the artist, as the displays kind of locked her away, behind everything. But getting a look at her, she’s definitely gorgeous.
She’s ginger and has tons of freckles and is a little pudgy in a cute and kind of thicc way. She has these thick rimmed glasses on. She looks like she may never get out of the house, but enjoys that lifestyle.
“Hi,” Sophie says, clearly not used to coming up to people like this.
“Heya. Feel free to take a look around.” The artist says, surprising everyone with an Australian accent.
“Actually, can I get this um… vampire hunter one?”
“Oh yeah! Thanks so much! That's one of my favorite pieces! I'm actually pitching a series of it to DC right now, so hopefully there will be more in the near future!” She says.
You step forward and hand Sophie the credit card she can use and as she hands it to the artist to buy the print, she also manages to tag the artist’s hand with the stamp. The artist seems confused for a moment, and a little weirded out, but then looks closer at the stamp and then at you.
“You own me now?” She asks.
(Author's Note: Full disclosure, it's been about 2 weeks over a year since I last published a chapter in this branch. I got overambitious and planned several chapters that were way too long, so I'm possibly back. At the very least, I reread the whole branch and really liked my work, so I'm feeling good about it. Hopefully, some shorter, hot chapters will be on their way, if university doesn't creep up on me first.)
