When they arrived at the cave encampment, Elona looked around.

"What do you think?" Kazex ask her, thinking it better to try to butter her up before turning her into breeding stock.

"It...could use a woman's touch," the elf girl responded.

"Not many woman out here to give their touch to it," the goblin responded.

"You live here by yourself?"

"Yes, I left my tribe long ago."

"Why?"

Kazex scoffed.

"Because the fool that was in charge was running it into the ground, I said something about it and I was exiled, been on my own ever since."

"Wow," Elona said, "don't you ever get lonely?"

"Not really."

There was a short silence between the two after that, until it was broken by a rumbling sound coming from the elf girl.

Kazex looked at her with an eyebrow raised quizzingly.

"Sorry, I haven't eaten since breakfast," she said, "I'm a little famished."

"I can make something for you if you want," Kazex said.

"Would you?" Elona asked, "I'd be very greatful."

"It's no problem," the goblin said moving over to the makeshift cooking fire in the cave.

He began pulling down salted meats he had prepared earlier, adding some berries and other things he had found in the forest.

When the food was almost done, he looked at his bag containing the potions.
