Arc 4: I can't do this (Nemo Rulz Part 2)

S: The loud crash of rubble hitting the ground was heard in the distance, one, two, three buildings one after the other, as a woman was seen crossing through them, through the windows, but what made them fall wasn't her but... "HEY ANDERSON, YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO WRECK THE CITY AS A HERO! "

J: "FUCK OFF!" I was currently trying to trap the person that goes by Sky Witch as a 'hero,' however failing miserably at it, but at least the rubble worked as ammunition as I quickly transformed the rubble into a hand to try and grab Gross, who was escaping Tokoyami's furious attacks at him, always scurrying away between buildings or flying away.

T: "Jack, focus!" Tokoyami would strike at one of the buildings; it almost seemed like they were more focused on dodging than fighting them, at least fighting Tokoyami. I heard the loud booming of a plane flying downwards, diving at me as I barely dodged it, and almost in an instant, she flew up 90°. It was an impossible curve for anyone at that speed and much more with a normal flying quirk. I knew what her quirk was, but it was more complicated than what I could remember. She changed directions, shooting down towards Tokoyami as he quickly took shelter inside the building and spread dark shadow all over the dark building to trap her, but instead was met with a quick ascent and direction change, finding it extremely unnatural. She didn't need to turn or slow down; she would be able to move omnidirectionally without turning or waiting. "Should I ask about her quirk as well?"

J: "It's not flying; she can move herself and objects at the same speed without having to slow down. I don't remember what she called it, but picture it like if she was drawing a line, and whenever she wants to turn a corner or change directions, she doesn't curve; she simply does it at that speed. Her body is much more durable than my normal one, so her organs don't smash each other and become a red glob when she changes directions."

S: "You prick! YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT OUR QUIRKS! That will get you in trouble back at the academy, Anderson!"

J: "HUH? YOU ARE LITERALLY ATTACKING US... Where is Gross anyways?" The manhole near a building blew up in smoke as Gross came out of there. "We need to focus on him. Gross is easier and weaker than she is; if we get him first, we can hardly handle her next. One of her punches could put us on the ground with ease."

G: [C'est de pire en pire.] Gross would start to absorb his smoke, but halfway he sees a large fanged mouth made out of stone come out of the ground trying to bite him. [Fils de pute!!!]

J: "Let's get going." I throw myself down as Tokoyami follows me, both of our attacks focusing on him as all he could do was run away. The smoke was troublesome, but it helped us follow him. Again, that sonic boom that witch has whenever she comes for us. I put up a quick wall to stop her; she, of course, bashed through it with ease and grabbed me out of the ground, starting to lift me up in the sky.

S: "Let's get you alo—" She felt herself getting intensely heavier as I changed my body's composition to diamond again; even her clothes were turning to iron. Not only that, but I made the inside of her jacket grow spikes trying to stab her, and she quickly let me go. I landed "safely" on the streets with barely any bruise, leaving a huge crater behind. "You really are in a mood to get killed, Anderson."

J: "Yeah, yeah, how about you tell me what's this all about?"

S: "I don't think I am in the right position to do that. You shouldn't even be here. Besides, since when do you care? I thought you were happy being a C-tier hero on a nowhere island with a bunch of nobodies?"

J: "Eh—people change, I guess."

S: "I wonder how long it would take for you to change again then." She took flight up in the sky extremely high.

J: "Tokoyami hide away; she is going to dive me down and hit me as hard as she can."

T: "Shouldn't we try to stop it?"

J: "Nope, she doesn't need to slow down remember, so she is going to make sure she hits me. If you get in the way, she might drag you along with her in the crash."

T: "Where is everyone else also?"

J: "Hm?" We heard the powerful dive and two booms as she hit Mach 2, but instead of going down for me, she turned a dangerous corner at the end of the street heading towards us. I quickly lifted the concrete ground to hit her, but she simply turned back up, letting the sonic waves be the ones to hit us back.

T: "The others! We haven't seen them; they should be here! But they are not here." I saw Gross on the side taking the chance to recover all of his quirk. I went to try and stop it but heard the zooming sound of her flying and hitting down on us again, this time Tokoyami tanking the blow as she punched us, pulling us away and quickly. "I think we were the last ones to be attacked."

J: My heart sank. He was right. I understand Momo taking his time, but both Ochaco and Tsuyu should've been here already, and we are not being very discreet either... Something was keeping them away, something that I haven't seen either. "HEY! HAVE YOU FOUGHT ANY OTHERS?!"

S: "Hmmm, what do you mean, Anderson?" She was floating upside down before starting to spin, mocking me. "Is there someone you are worried about?"

J: "So you have?"

S: "Anderson I will repeat this one last time: this isn't your business; our business is with the bird dude and any other Japanese. As a student, you need to go; if you leave, things will be much easier."

J: "You are feeling too fucking bold after beating me once out of how many times, huh?! If you hurt anybody else, I won't go easy on you!"

S: "Oooooh scary, he is acting like one of those protagonists from shonens when they get angry. Let me guess, next you are going to awaken your quirk, and it's going to be some bullshit that will bring me down, right?" She snickered, "Last time I saw you, you were drowning yourself in a bottle of wine and asking for a quick fuck; you are at your lowest right now, and you are still at your lowest. You cannot beat us."

J: "It's 2 of us versus 2 of you. You are outskilled and outmatched, and frankly, Gross was outnumbered a moment ago."

S: "Oh trust me, I counted on more being here; that's why I brought him." She pointed at the end of the street. I stared at what she pointed at, thinking it was going to be a villain, but no, it was much, much worse than that. A flash of light hit us; I was barely able to block it, but I could tell the person who shot it was just playing around. I knew this person... "You didn't..."

D:"Jack! Nice to see you, dude!" He shouted with a megaphone while aiming their finger at me, their finger already smoking from the blast.

T: "Another classmate of yours?"

J: I was trembling, I was scared, I don't care if Gross becomes a villain, I barely care if Sky Witch becomes a villain, I could beat those but not this guy. Not this guy; there were three people I fear the most when crossing paths or training, number one rank Trivia, number three rank Blackout and finally this guy, number two, Draw. "We need to retreat..."

T: "Hm? Why?"

J: "Please, Tokoyami, we need to go and gather more people. We can't, not with him. Even if there were 10 of us, he could take us down. We cannot face this guy. We—we need to go. We need to get other heroes to face them. If they are villains, I—I think we are going to die." I was sweating; I was acting pathetic in the face of the enemy.

D:"OIIII!!! GOOD AFTERNOON! I AM HERE TO FIGHT ANY OF YOU. CAN YOU COME OUT AND FIGHT ME TOO, PLEASE!"

T: "... Are you saying he is too strong?"

J: "Much stronger than me or you, he can deal with the two of us easily."

T: "... Okay, I hear you. Retreat, Jack. I will win you some time. They don't seem to be shooting to kill either, so—"

J: "Wait, wait, wait, did you not hear me? This is not a fight anymore; this is—" Another blast was shot at us. Sending us back, it was almost instantaneous; we didn't see any light this time, and it was like a push of air. "Tsuky-Tokoyami, please, let's just leave! If we run together, we can make it out, please!"

D:"DO NOT IGNORE MEEEEEEE!!! That's just rude..." He started to walk slowly closer to me. I saw Gross and Witch positioning themselves in front of us. This was not a fight anymore; this was survival.

T: "Jack, go get the others here. I can buy time—"

J: "Are you stupid?!"

T: "You say they are dangerous, right? If they are villains, they could go for citizens or destroy the city. We need to win time, and we need someone to contact the others. The radio is not working, so someone has to go there. Jack—"

J: "Please no—"

D:"To the count of three—1..."

T: "Get ready—"

J: "HOLD ON—"

D:"2..." Tokoyami spread Darkshadow's wings as he dashed forward, passing Gross and Sky Witch, who just gave me an eerie smile followed by a shrug, and chased after Tokoyami. They were going to kill him! "THREE!"

"DRAW!"

A large blast of lightning shot at Tokoyami, who dodged it in the air, taking flight. I noticed that the sky witch wasn't trying to capture him or reach him; they were almost like they were leading him. I needed to do something, but I was paralyzed. I cannot picture how powerful he is if he is trying to hurt us, but—I needed to act. I couldn't leave him to die; I couldn't forgive myself if it happened again. I quickly rushed behind him, deciding to face them as well. I couldn't fathom the idea of leaving him behind.

T: "Jack! You need to—"

D:"EYES ON ME, BIRD MAN!" He shot another 3 blasts of lightning, failing them all. "YES GOOD, BRING ME SOME ENTERTAINMENT! WHAT IS THAT THING YOU GUYS SAY? LET'S TURN THIS HEAT UP! GO PLUS ULTRA?!" He aimed his hand at the front moving it left to right, orange orbs remained next to him and then he lifted his hand up in the air; a complete shower of explosions came out, bright orange beams of light that went up to the skies like a beacon shining in the brightest of nights, turning the sky yellow for a moment. He then moved his hand down as all the beams of light headed towards him.

S: "Nope."

G: "Hell no." Both companions of Draw moved away from the beams of light. Tokoyami was starting to notice the pattern of energy in his attacks, but the large barrage of attacks that came out in that instant was so huge and sudden that he knew it couldn't be normal. He understood why Jack was afraid of this person.

Tokoyami quickly dodged inside the buildings, moving between and through them with the hope he would shoot down the edifices, but instead Draw just pulled up his hand again, the beams following the tracking of his movement, and with a snap of his fingers, a large trail of explosions was seen, however I noticed something odd, all the explosions could've levelled every single one of these buildings into the ground, practically he just let go Tokoyami with a warning but that's the issue why?.

D: Tokoyami came out of the buildings approaching him at a fast speed. "Coming right at me dope!" And stroke with Dark shadow a powerful hit that could knock out anyone but instead just pushed him against the wall. "[Awesome punch!] My codename is Draw, you are Tsukuyomi the dark hero, you faced the big bad boss once, I am surprised, your weakness is light your strength is darkness right?" Tsukuyomi looked angry at what he said, having the upper hand on what are his strengths and what not is troublesome but instead... "There is a cave a few miles from here I will go running towards it, we can fight there, here is a tip fighting up close is the best way to beat me so don't let me gain distance since I could shoot you from miles away, questions? If you defeat me before getting there that's extra points!"

T: "You are planning on how I can defeat you?"

D:"Correct! I need you to beat me up very good! Defeat me and sweep the ground with me; our friends won't bother us, just you and me..." He looked to the side, seeing me sliding their way. "Jack is going to be troublesome; he is looking more alive these days. Ready?"

T: "Wait a moment."

D:"Let's go!" Draw aimed his hands at the ground, a blast of air lifting him in the air as he shot off laughing, hoping for Tokoyami to follow him. He heard someone behind him as the Sky Witch was just floating here, shrugging.

S: "Go ahead, or would you rather face all three of us at once?" He felt this was a trap, but right now he had to play along for the sake of everyone and perhaps idealize a new plan.

J: I kept running behind them as I watched him drift away in the distance. Gross crossed me, trying to block my path with more smoke, so I went under the ground, travelling through the sewers for the moment. Although going through here really was awful, it stank quite bad, but not as bad as Gross. However, not having visual cues made this harder; I had to go with my gut feeling and some tremorsense. "Shit, where should I go? Why did he go alone? I don't get it." I almost felt like tearing up again. I had to get my shit together... I quickly left the underground, noticing Draw and Tokoyami further away, but there was something else: they were fighting near a building without explosions, beams, or anything destructive.

Draw was shooting air blast after air blast; wasn't his weakness light? Why use only compressed air out of his fingers? This made no sense... Is he not trying? Then I saw how Tokoyami struck a building nearby, wrecking the wall, and then it suddenly hit me: Gross was going through such tight alleys and small corners, putting himself in a bad situation, but also every time he was attacked, something was wrecked; Sky was avoiding hitting me against buildings and going through them in a destructive manner; and Draw was avoiding exploding things near buildings or hitting explosions towards them.

They weren't here to attack us...

They were here for... I noticed Sky dive on me through the right, launching me away but at the same time closer to where the other two were fighting.

D:"THIS IS GOOD, COME ON!" He shot another airblast at Tokoyami, who kept blocking with Dark Shadow. It was one compressed air attack after another, Tokoyami trying to get his hands, to wrap Dark shadow around them he was able to restrain one of his hands for a second "BAD TOUCHING!" And at the same time an intense bright light came out of his other hand making Dark Shadow let go of him "Dude, that's boring! Here is a tip, my quirk comes out of the tip of my fingers, but my feet also have fingers, so I can also use them from there, even if you lock my hands! I will just blast you with my feet, good strat but dude please. Try and hit me harder!" I was getting closer and closer to him. Once I was in an audible range, I screamed.

J: "TOKOYAMI, WAIT! THEY ARE NOT HERE TO FIGHT US!"

T: "Hm?"

J: "THEY ARE USING YOU TO DESTROY THE BUILDINGS. THEY ARE PURPOSELY AVOIDING DAMAGING EVERY SINGLE BUILDING. THEY WANT YOU TO DESTROY THEM! THEY ARE NOT HERE FOR US; THEY ARE HERE TO **** YOU TO WRECK THE CITY."

D:"Hey, wait, hold on, don't listen to him! Don't ruin this, Jack! Look, maybe that's true, but understand that there are more important things at hand right now. BE A MAN FIGHT ME!"

T: "No wonder you kept pushing us to our limits; so you just wanted the city we have been trying to rebuild wrecked."

D:"We wanted? You are far from the reality I want a fight; however, I will let it pass just this once. I can explain later; let's fight!"

T: "I shall not fight you until you explain."

D: "..." Draw sighed the expression on his face went from one of excitement to boredom he looked... Sad? "Jack, do you ever wonder when it's time to shut up...?"

S: The zooming sound of someone flying fast was heard as Tokoyami was struck from behind by Sky. "I guess we don't need this one anymore, right?" Tokoyami hit the ground as he was barely able to guard himself on time; hearing someone breathing close, he jumped back, and a cloud of smoke shot at him, barely coming out of it without being attacked. "There were a few more on the section C let's go there next"

D: "Going somewhere?" An extremely condensed air attack that cut through the air was shot at him; his dark wings protected him, or so he thought. He felt the shot piercing Dark Shadow and hitting him. "Pew. "It's all that Draw said. "Another one. PEW-PEW-BANG-BANG!" One shot, two shots, three blasts, four blasts. Each stronger, faster, and more violent than the last one, he tried to fly away, but Sky's immense speed caught up to him, kicking him down to the ground towards Gross, who tried to literally make him inhale his noxious gas. Tokoyami took flight, trying to get away from all of them, they stopped playing around.

D: I moved, ready to intercept, but I was met with Draw, who wasn't willing to let me go; He used his quirk to blast himself closer to me and he was in a matter of seconds in front of me with his right hand on my belly. "Please leave, Jack." A large glimpse of light was seen in his hand before he struck my chest. I quickly solidified myself, turning diamond once more, but the large blast just sent me away, flying much higher than Sky's. I watched Tokoyami disappear in the distance. I couldn't help him anymore; I needed to reach him before they defeated him, I used my quirk to turn my jacket on somethign similar to a glider but this speed meant nothing, they were moving further away he was on his own and this was my fault. "Now where were we?"

T: Tokoyami was flying away as he heard that zooming sound again right above him. A shadow loomed on top, and he saw Sky following him before she went down to attack. Tokoyami, more ready, tried to strike back but was met with a shot of light that made Darkshadow smaller and weaker, and then Sky was simply overwhelmed with more strength. "GAH!" He was thrown to the ground; he looked battered up.

D: "It's a shame," he heard from behind. Dark Shadow quickly embraced Tokoyami to protect him before a large blast of fire came out of Draw's fingers. "I am your opposite, your weakness; light defeats you, and I don't need you anymore... I wanted you to **** my hand! TO GET SERIOUS! TO SHOW ME SOMETHING TO BECOME BETTER!... I am saddened—truly."

S: "Focus little weirdo!" She struck him as hard as she could pushing back Dark Shadow weakened on the fire aad hitting him in his stomach, he was **** to go down and move around corners between buildings knowing well he could use them to hide but she didn't let go of him, she catch up in matter of seconds and strike him down to the street, Draw wasn't further away either, he shot another blast of light at him making Dark Shadow go back.

T: "T-T-OKOYAMI" Dark Shadow tried to resist but it didn't matter it was too late

G: The light stopped; someone hugged him from behind. "Sorry" he heard in perfect Japanese coming from Gross, before a large cloud of gas covered him. Gross was thrown to a nearby building by Dark Shadow who grew larger inside the smoke, but Dark Shadow started to run away, seemingly more sloppy, without direction, tired, and dizzy. Tokoyami as well was sick; he had inhaled and touched directly the smoke, and he now understood why. His vision was extremely blurry and unfocused, and he puked all over himself. The smell was unbearable; it was almost like he was blinded, deafened, and couldn't have a sense of direction nor smell. Dark Shadow was going on automatic mode, but due to Tokoyami being unable to fight back, he hit a building that made him almost pass out.

D: "I feel bad... I bet you are really strong, just... You just had bad luck. I wish that one day you would come back and fight me with all you've got... Alright, hey baby girl, get some ropes; we are tying him up with the others."

S: "The fuck did you say, you stupid playboy?"

D:"I am just messing around, you know I don—" Tokoyami suddenly was grabbed by a giant rock hand and pulled inside the ground. Draw was about to shoot an explosion, but hitting the ground would mean destroying part of the city; he grabbed a manhole and tossed it off. "Sky quickly! LOOK FOR HIM."

S: "In the sewer? Ewww, fuck no, could you do something about this?"

D:"But... my boots... are new... Also, the thingy, the thingy thing that does the comms interference is down there, the one that goes bzzz bzzz that messes up communication!"

G: ["I got this."] Gross said in English as he shot inside the sewer, his gas filling the whole system with his quirk, but it was already too late; I had escaped with Tokoyami underground.

I sighed, saddened by the result of this encounter, trying to gather my thoughts.

J: "Why... Why just—Why not run away with me? You didn't need to deal with this, but you did anyways? I told you! They are stronger than you, smarter than you—than me, than any of you—but...you still faced them. What were you thinking?" Tokoyami couldn't respond; he was out of it. I even felt some of his drool on my back. "... I also should've run but couldn't choose what to do. I came for you when I should've gone for help, and if I had gone for help, everyone would've known what was happening, but now... No one knows." I took my radio, still working, but... Interference—no one knew where we were... I messed up again. I let down Tokoyami.

"I should've chosen back then and right now, and I froze this time. I should've decided to fight next to you, but instead I left everything to you." I sense the gas filling up the sewer and pull up a wall, picking Tokoyami up again and walking away, trying to focus on what to do. I cannot beat them, and I am scared of Draw. I thought he was going to kill me, and I knew he could kill you, and yet I let you just face him. Why are there people able to face monsters like him... Trivia did this so long ago, and I couldn't. I just—how can people be this selfless? I don't understand what you gain... What can I do? What would they do? I almost felt like just giving up and telling them to knock me out; at least I would have an excuse for running away. I feel so pathetic. When I came to U. A honestly thought I was better than them, stronger, but I am just a rat that is sinking in the sewers; I can never do anything right.

"What can I do this time? Why couldn't I fix it? This is the same as back then, and yet—I." I choked on my tears trying not to cry, steadying myself, stopping and breathing. I couldn't cry, not in public, not right now.

T: "J-Jack..." Tokoyami spoke, very weak, pointing at something.

J: "Hm? What?" I thought they found us, but instead there was something on the wall of the sewers, a small device.

J: "... What the?" Then I knew what it was. "The thing—this must be blocking the radio, right? Is that what you are telling me?" Tokoyami nodded weakly. I touched it and destroyed it in seconds, turning it into sand. Then the radio was back on, and I let Tokoyami down on the ground to speak. "H-hello?" This is fate giving me a second chance isn't it?

I heard a voice from the other side "H-hELLOoO?" It was a bit distorted, with static, but it was a girl talking. "JaaAack?" It was Momo.

"MOMO! Where are you? Is everyone okay?" I sniffed a little, why was I getting so emotional? I was never like this

"We saw explosions, so we evacuated! What's going on? We are heaaaaAaAading theEere."

"No, wait, there are three villains; they are strong, don't come and... and Tokoyami is hurt, and... and I need... I need help—I can't do this. Not alone, please."

"Jack, are you alright?"

"I am not. Sorry there is a lot wrong with me. Not the time for this but Momo, can you help me defeat them? Could you trust me with this? I think I need to do this. I need to make things right, and if I run away this time, all the mistakes I made will never be fixed. I need your help to save everyone."

"... Okay, we are going with your plan. What do you need us to do?"

"Master, Tsuyu, are they there? Who is with you?"

"Mina, Sato, Ochaco, and Setsuna are with me and your master as well; we cannot find some of the class 3-B students nor the other school's students."

"There were other schools? Okay, no wait, never mind, they are **** most likely. I got Awase out; it's on the evacuation zone at least with the workers. The other girl from 3-B must be tied up somewhere with other students, gassed up and ****."

"So what do we do? They have hostages."

"Not hostages, they are not here to hurt us; they want us to destroy the city, so they put themselves on the line for that. I'm not sure why, but we need to stop them. Don't worry about those that are not here; they are in a safe place most likely. Draw didn't seem like a villain either... I have a plan, but you must trust me with it... Also, can you put Setsuna on the radio?"

I heard the radio cutting and then going back on and another girl speaking "Jack?"

"Setsuna, hi... I need your help. This is a job you can do and only you." I looked back at Tokoyami, finally calming down "Everything is going to be okay"
