Second Intermission

*Dr. Silas P.O.V.*

It's been a month since Mr. Wayne and Dr. Isley **** everyone to take the weekend off. It wasn't all bad though! All of us came back feeling rejuvenated and ready to work on that Monday. Some more than others though!

That Monday yielded amazing results for us. We came back and created a test batch that is still holding up to this day. Everytime we introduce new brain cancer cells to the test batch, the test batch completely destroys the cancerous cells. Hopefully, this batch will yield the results everyone is looking for.

Even with everyone being positive, I have noticed some startling changes in a couple of my colleagues. That being Dr. Steele and Harley.

It started out with me noticing that it seemed like during our downtime I would see Harley sitting on Dr. Steele's desk either laughing so hard she was almost in tears, or she would be telling Dr. Steele something that either had him laughing just as hard, or listening to her intently.

But, it didn't stop there! I started noticing that Harley was sitting with Dr. Steele during our lunch break in the cafeteria. Both of them lost in their own private conversations. Even occasionally one or the other of them would steal food from the others plate.

But, the biggest evidence that Harley and Dr. Steele's relationship had changed happened today after I had delivered some paperwork to Dr. Isley's office before I went to lunch.

I was walking out of Dr. Isley's office when I noticed that the door to the roof was open. Usually that's no big deal. Sometimes some of my colleagues like to get Dr. Isley's permission and use her rooftop terrace to eat lunch.

So, I decided to see who was up there. I thought to myself if it was some of the colleagues I'm friendlier with that I would ask them if I could join them up there for lunch.

So, I opened the door and started climbing the stairs. As I approached the outer roof door, I saw that the door was propped open.

That still wasn't that unusual. But as I got to the door at the top of the stairs, I heard a woman's laugh. A very familiar woman's laugh. A laugh I have come to recognize as Harley's laugh. Initially I thought nothing of it. She could be up here with some of the colleagues who are now her friends enjoying her lunch with them. Hell, for all I know she could be talking to the Boss on her cellphone. If either was the case I didn't want to startle them.

I approached the door slowly and cautiously and opened it. I wasn't expecting what I saw!!

What I saw was Harley sitting in Dr. Steele's lap. Her arms wrapped around his neck. She was laughing at a story or a joke he told her. After she stopped laughing, they looked at each other with a look that said that this friendship had evolved into a romantic relationship!!

I got further confirmation of this a few seconds later. As Harley leaned forward and down and kissed Dr. Steele. This wasn't no quick peck on the lips. No, this was a full on make out kissing session going on up on the roof.

My heart began to beat faster! I couldn't believe what I was seeing!! The Bosses Harley was up here fucking romantically kissing Dr. Steele! Oh My Fucking Gahd! The Boss is going to lose his shit when I tell him about this new development!

I quickly rushed back down the stairs from the roof. I quickly bolt through the roof access door and make the right turn into the hall and head for the elevator.

I get to the elevator and press the down button and the doors open up. I press the button for the second floor and the doors close. The ride down seems like it takes an eternity, but soon the doors open and I bolt out of the elevator.

I make a left turn out of the elevator and quickly head to my office at the end of the hallway. I get to my office and unlock the door and step inside and close and lock the door behind me. I make my way around my desk to my chair where my jacket is hanging off of it.

I reached into the pocket and pulled out the burner phone the Boss gave me and quickly dialed his number.

The phone rang twice before the Boss picked up.

"Aww, Dr. Silas to what do I owe the pleasure of this personal call?".

"Boss, I've got some bad news about Harley and I know you're not going to like it!!".

"Well, out with it Dr. Silas, what could Harley have done that would be so much worse that what she has already done to me?".

"Boss, I just saw Harley romantically kissing Dr. Steele.".

"WHAT!!! THAT TRAITOROUS WHORE!! THAT FUCKING SLUT!! WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON HER AND THAT ASSHOLE DR. STEELE I'LL.....".

I had to pull the phone away from my ear. At the rate the Boss was yelling and screaming I would be deaf before he finished his ranting. But, what scared me the most was when I put the phone back to my ear was how eerily calm the Boss was. All he told me was.

"Thank you, Dr. Silas for the update! If anything else happens let me know.".

Then the Boss hung up. I turned the phone back off and placed it back into my jacket pocket. I then walked back around my desk and unlocked and opened my office door and walked out into the hallway and went to lunch.
