Rowena Ravenclaw was one of the most powerful witches of her time—if not the most powerful of all. Her intelligence combined with strength and an immense knowledge of magic, as well as the fact that she was one of the four founders of Hogwarts, made her one of the most important figures in the wizarding world.

Her beauty did not lag behind her intellect. Although she concealed most of her body beneath long, floor-length gowns worth a fortune, anyone bold—or rather foolish—enough to stare at her breasts and hips instead of looking into her eyes could undoubtedly conclude that Rowena, with her raven-black hair reaching down to her waist, was an absolutely beautiful woman. Likewise, her expressions full of pride, severity, and wisdom could not change the fact that she had an exceptionally beautiful face.
