Punish her

When the door to the apartment bursts open, Kurenai practically stumbles inside. Her hair is windswept, her mesh armor dusty from the road, and her chest heaves with exertion. She looks frantic, her eyes immediately darting around the room until they land on you. Without a word, she holds out the mission scroll and the heavy pouch of ryō, her hand trembling.

"I'm... I'm back," she pants, her voice a **** rasp. "Record time. Everything is here. Please..."

You don't reach for the money. Instead, you remain seated, your expression cold and disapproving. You let the silence stretch until her **** smile begins to falter into confusion and fear.

"You were reckless, Kurenai," you say, your voice dropping into a low, dangerous tone.

"What? No, I was efficient," she argues, taking a step toward you. "I cleared the path, I protected the—"

"You used Body Flicker repeatedly on the way back while your chakra reserves were already dipped from the push," you interrupt, standing up slowly. You walk toward her, but instead of pulling her into an embrace, you loom over her, forcing her to look up. "My scouts—clones I leave on the perimeter—see you. You weren't scanning for ambushes; you were just running. You left your teammates behind. If an elite tracking squad had been waiting in those woods, you would have walked right into a trap."

You reach out, not to caress her, but to firmly grip her chin, forcing her to hold your gaze.

"Think, Kurenai. Use that 'disciplined' brain of yours. If you get yourself killed or captured because you're too busy chasing a high to watch your own back... how exactly do you plan on continuing this? If you're dead, there is no more oxytocin. No more dopamine. Just cold dirt."

She flinches at the harshness of your words, the reality of her behavior crashing down on her. The "withdrawal" has made her sloppy, and the realization that she could lose her access to you because of her own impatience terrifies her more than any enemy shinobi ever could.

"I... I wasn't thinking," she whispers, her eyes welling with a mix of shame and frustration. "I just needed to get back. Everything feels so loud when you're not there."

"Then consider this a lesson in sustainability," you say, letting go of her chin but staying close enough to keep her trapped in your shadow. "I'm not rewarding reckless behavior. You’ll wait. Go clean the dust off yourself. Change. If I see you acting like a panicked genin again, the price of the next fix won't be money—it'll be a week of total abstinence. Do you understand?"

Kurenai shivers, the threat of a week without you hitting her like a physical blow. She lowers her head, the mission scroll clutched to her chest. "I understand," she murmurs submissively. "I'll be better. I'll be perfect next time. Just... don't make me wait a week."
