He gets a call

A few weeks had passed and Casey still hadn’t invited anyone to the party. It was just a couple days until Christmas Eve. He was lying in bed when he suddenly got a call from Emma, an old friend from high school. Casey had known her for years before but never talked much with her. They got to know each other pretty well in high school but rarely talked now because they went to schools far away from each other and were always busy. Still they remained good friends. To be honest, he always had a massive crush on her but never found the courage to ask her out.

“Hey Casey, it’s been ages, how are you doing?”

“Great, not up to much now but I’m doing fine. What about you?”

“Well, I graduated early this semester so I’m not doing much. I’m looking for a job now and actually found one in your town. They seemed pretty interested in my application, but since it’s the holiday season they’re interviewing me in early January. Anyways, I was wondering if I could drop by your place for a couple weeks in the mean time so I could catch up with you snd get familiar with the area! I’ll be here in a couple days, sorry for such a short notice!”

“Wow congrats on graduating and the job opportunity! Yeah, I’d love to catch up with you! My place is pretty free right now so you can crash for as long as you need.”

“Great! I’ll send you some more details later on when I’ll get there. See you soon!”
