Sabotaging the operation

Yuriko Oyama was observing as a large, hulking thug was strapped into a machine, with a series of tubes attached to his body. The machine whirred to life, injecting a liquid metal alloy into the thug's veins as he screamed in agony; several minutes later, the process was complete. Still, the thug fell down dead, his body convulsing on the floor. "Another failure," Deathstrike seethed.

"We are making progress, but it is not yet enough," Bane noted from his position overlooking the lab. "The venom strengthens them, but it is not enough to allow the body to accept the adamantium."

"We should try a more concentrated dose of venom," Deathstrike suggested.

"Perhaps you are correct," Bane considered, turning to face Deathstrike. "Mental breakdowns are still extremely likely, however. Only those with the strongest wills would be able to survive the process..."

"It would be a worthy sacrifice," Deathstrike stated coldly. "Even if the majority of our soldiers perish, the ones that survive would be nearly unstoppable."

"Very well," Bane nodded. "I will--"

The lights in the lab began to flicker erratically, as the machinery around them shut down. "What is happening?" Deathstrike demanded as alarms began to blare throughout the facility. "Find out!"

"The power stations," one of Bane's men reported. "They've been overloaded!"

Bane furiously slammed a fist into a nearby console. "Overloaded?! How!"

"We're not sure," the thug answered, "It's like a ghost passed through the room and caused everything to short out..."

"Pryde..." Deathstrike hissed as she realized what had happened. "Kitty Pryde is here. And if she's here, Logan is likely here as well... RRRRGH!" She shrieked as she stormed out of the room, looking for the man she despised.

Bane hung behind, his calm demeanor a stark contrast to Deathstrike's rage. "The Bat is here. I'm sure of it," he muttered to himself. "My men don't stand a chance against him... I'll deal with him myself."
