COMMENT: We did receive complaints about the crass acceptance of the marriage proposal. I suppose it ruined one of the chief romantic moments of the story, although the ring reference was not anachronistic, so in future I shall take Jacqui's (or any other woman's) advice.

I had promised Kara more screen time so I added Celia’s wedding which, although not mentioned in the book, must have taken place around the time Uncle Peter dies. This replaced a previous idea with Peter dying during an attempted **** of Mary. It mentions in the book that he has a burst of sudden strength so we could justify it but we figured viewers would rather have the happier scene.
