Chapter 650

What's next?
Time to go. Goodbye, Eric.
You got lucky; there wasn't anyone waiting on the other side of the copy room door. Sabrina split off from you, heading into the kitchenette area to grab a napkin and fix her lipstick in the little mirror hanging on the wall there since you’d managed to get her hair straightened out. Meanwhile, you went to the elevators, calling one up. You had to hold it open for a long moment since it took Sabrina a hot second to follow you, but she skipped in with you, grinning and blushing.
“That was fun,” she said.
“I can’t believe we didn’t get caught,” you sighed, shaking your head ruefully.
Sabrina smirked and shrugged. “Maybe we did, but they didn’t try to open the door. What if the associates and Junior partners are hooking up all over the place when there aren’t any interns or clients around?”
“I doubt that’s the case,” you snorted, smirking right back.
“I dunno, I kinda like the idea of Garrison getting his rocks off with a couple of the hotter associates,” Sabrina chuckled. “He deserves it.”
You sighed and shook your head, not wanting to think about that, and then choked on a laugh as you remembered the time you’d been called into his office and had a blind moment of panic that he was going to sexually harass you. It had been completely unfounded and out of the blue, and had definitely not been what was going on, but that moment of pure, paralysing terror in your mind seemed so ludicrous now.
Sabrina gave you a questioning look as you coughed, covering your mouth and shaking your head at her to show you couldn’t explain, and the elevator doors opened before you could clear your throat fully.
You followed Sabrina, still clearing your throat and wiping the tears that had sprung to your eyes, as she exited the elevator.
“Where’s Eric?” Sabrina asked Becks as you both approached the front desk.
“He went outside,” Becks smirked a little, grinning with her eyes.
“You win,” you chuckled to Sabrina, then focused on Becks. “I thought after a full summer, he’d at least manage to make small talk.”
“Oh, he tried,” Becks said. “I just didn’t make it easy on him.” Then she narrowed her eyes as she glanced between the two of you before leaning forward slightly and dropping her volume. “Did you two just…?”
Sabrina’s grin gave it away.
“In the middle of the day?” Becks hissed.
“That’s what I said,” you sighed.
“It was hot, and our last chance,” Sabrina smirked. “And we didn’t get caught, so it’s fine.”
“Jesus Christ,” Becks laughed, leaning back and stretching as she shook her head.
“You can’t tell me, if we weren’t getting together later, you wouldn’t want John to take you into one of the empty rooms back there and give you one last send off,” Sabrina grinned.
“Yeah, I would want him to,” Becks rolled her eyes. “But it wouldn’t be a good idea to do that. And we do have plans, John baby, so don’t think about it.”
“Becks,” you said, leaning your elbows on the raised part of the front desk and leaning over slightly with a bit of a lascivious grin. “I think about it every time I set my eyes on you. And occasionally I just daydream about it.”
“You dirty fucker,” she whispered, grinning and blushing a little as she checked around the lobby quickly to confirm there wasn’t anyone around. Then she surprised you by tugging on the collar of her shirt, bringing it down low enough along with her bra to flash one of her dark nipples for a second.
You groaned softly and licked your lips.
Sabrina snickered and pretended to reach out to pinch it.
Becks pulled away from her, laughing and covering up.
“See you at dinner, gorgeous?” you asked her.
“You know it,” Becks said, then blew you a kiss before glaring lightly at Sabrina. “Don’t wear him out, you greedy slut.”
“I won’t, I promise,” Sabrina said, grinning and drawing an X over her heart. “Cross my heart, he’ll be ready to take care of you, me and Tasha.”
“Good,” Becks grinned. Then she stood up and leaned over the desk, throwing her arms around you and Sabrina in a much more work-appropriate goodbye hug. “God, Monday is gonna suck without you guys,” she said.
“I know,” Sabrina groaned as you both hugged the older girl back.
“We’ll miss you,” you said, giving Becks a chaste kiss on the cheek.
Becks pulled back, smiling sadly, and waved you off. “Alright, get outta here, you two. You’re distracting us hard-working professionals.”
You and Sabrina left the office lobby for the last time that summer, with Sabrina holding your arm comfortably. It likely wouldn’t be the last time - there would be meetings for the lawsuit that you would probably need to come up to the city for. But leaving felt much more like an ending than the other moments you’d had back upstairs.
Well, other than the orgasm. That had been an ending of another kind.
“What took you guys so long?” Eric asked, stepping away from where he’d been leaning against the side of the building.
“Sorry,” you said. “We got caught up in a couple of conversations.”
“I got what I was missing, though, so we’re all good, and all finished up,” Sabrina said.
“Well… I guess that’s it then, huh?” Eric sighed. “Summer over, internship over.”
“Not quite,” Sabrina said. “Well, OK, Internship over. But I need you to do something for me, Eric.”
“OK?”
Sabrina stepped up to him and threw her arms around his neck, pulling him into a hard hug. “Be the Eric that Gemma, John and I got to know this summer. Not the kinda douchey, obsessed with scoring with girls, egotistical Eric who started off the summer, OK? The Eric we got to know? Amazing. Great friend. Love you to ****. Be that Eric when you go back to school. And stop listening to those fucking podcasts.”
“I- Uh-” Eric stammered, then slowly hugged her back. “OK.”
Sabrina pulled back, planting her hands on his shoulders and looking him in the eye with uncomfortably stern eye contact. “Tell Beth how you feel. Tonight. Summer love doesn’t have to stop at summer, but it can’t go any further if you’re not fucking honest about it. And if she doesn’t feel the same way you do, or doesn’t like the idea of long distance for a bit? That’s OK. It’ll suck a little, but you’ll know you had the balls to try. And not only that, but you’ll know that you can do it, so when you find the next girl who rocks your world in the right way, you’ll be ready for her.”
“OK,” Eric sighed after a long moment. “OK. I’ll do… all that.”
Sabrina pulled him into another quick hug, then stepped back.
You and Eric had one brief, awkward moment before coming together in a hug of your own.
“Thanks for taking that punch for me, dude,” you said.
“Thanks for the warnings about Lucy,” he replied.
“And thanks for the whole thing at the dance club.”
“Thanks for being a bro this summer,” he said.
“If you tell me you love me, I might vomit a little bit in my mouth,” you chuckled.
“Asshole,” he laughed, hugging you a little tighter before you seperated. Then he ran his hands through his hair and sighed, shaking his head. “Jesus, this has been a wild summer.”
“You’re telling me,” you smirked.
“Yeah, I guess yours has been kinda wild too,” he chuckled. “I still don’t get how you two and Gemma got together.”
“Luck, skill, a cute smile and an open heart,” Sabrina told him. “And a good-sized dick. Not too big, not too small. Just right.”
“OK, Goldilocks,” you blushed, grabbing her around the shoulder with one arm and tugging her closer to get her to stop.
“More like Goldicocks,” Eric said, then snorted in surprise at his own dirty joke, which made you and Sabrina start laughing. “OK, OK,” he said. “I’m headed out.”
“Text me how it goes with Beth,” Sabrina said. “And you can text me for more dating advice if you want. Just no sending me dick pics, even if you’re drunk and lonely.”
“I don’t do that,” Eric argued, then saw the teasing look on her face and rolled his eyes. “Thanks. Both of you.”
“See you around, Eric,” you said, clapping him on the shoulder.
“You too,” he nodded, then took a breath and about-faced, heading down the street toward his usual bus stop.
You and Sabrina watched him go for a long moment before turning in the opposite direction towards his stop.
“He’s totally going to fuck it up with Beth tonight,” you said.
“Oh, absolutely,” Sabrina agreed immediately. “Poor girl. Maybe we should get her number.”
“Sabrina,” you scoffed.
“What? She’s hot from the pictures Eric showed me.”
“I don’t need another woman to- We leave tomorrow,” you said.
“OK, fine,” Sabrina smirked. “We’ll leave her out in the wilds. Hopefully Eric takes care of her before he fucks it up instead of after.”
“You’re awful,” you laughed.
“Awfully in love with you,” Sabrina grinned cheekily.
“And cheesy,” you said.
“Cheesily in love with you,” she continued to grin.
“Hey,” said a guy who had just stopped next to you at the bus stop. “You two wanna keep your fuckin’ teeth inside your skulls? No one gives a fuck how happy you are! Some of us have shit goin’ on.”
“Sorry, man,” you said to him. “It’s tough not to grin like this when we just had amazing sex in the middle of the day.”
The guy’s jaw worked like a fish gasping for air for a moment, then he let out his breath and shrugged, shaking his head. “Yeah, well… I guess it would be,” he said in defeat.
Sabrina turned to look at you, her eyes big as she tried desperately not to guffaw.
