Arc 4: Mina Ashido

"Mina Ashido! What a great surprise!" I said with such a fake excited tone, almost like a jester announcing to the kink the return of his knights.

"Jack Anderson Matsumoto! The person I wanted to talk about"

"Please don't call me Anderson nor Matsumoto again for the future please and thank you" I said with some cold tone, I hated hearing my last names.

"Jack. Sorry. Is that your hero outfit?" I quickly hit a pose for her.

"Yeah, its awesome, Do you like it?"

"I think its quite flashy, but a bit simple, you should see mine tomorrow! It will leave you amazed"

"Yeah I will bring mine tomorrow as well!" A loud thump was heard inside my closet knowing Momo was inside.

"What was that?"

"Must've been the wind, oh right you are in tomorrows work are you not?"

"Yup! We are going to be partners!"

"Oh that reminds me! Can you stop telling everyone I am gay" Mina started to laugh outloud as she covered her face, cleaning away the tears of her laughter.

"I did tell you, you were going to make me pay for that Mineta stuff"

"Fair enough!"

"Anywayyys, I have come here to talk to you since I have the perfect excuse now that we are going to a work tomorrow and there is something that has been bothering me"

"And what would that be?"

"Jack. Do you think I haven't notice?"

"Noticed? Notice what..."

"You know what I mean don't play dumb with me now!"

"I truly have no idea"

"I see you hanging out all the time with Tsuyu and Momo and Tsuyu and Momo were the first ones to approach you and the other day I heard from Ochaco that you, her and Momo and Tsu went to play board games at your house"

"Yeah? What is that suppose to mean"

"You keep hanging around those two all day and whenever I get a glimpse of you, you are either with one or the other, isn't it a bit obvious what's going on?" Tsuyu was going to scold me so hard, she was going to tell me to shut the fuck up and she was going to bring a dog collar and shock me whenever I speak up too much, I was so sure that this would be the 4th person to suddenly find out about our secret.

"Th-that I am also talking with Mineta?"

"Yeah yeah but he doesn't count. I will cut to the chase" She smirks "You like one of them don't you!"

Fuck. "Well yeah they are my friends-" Wait I can save this! "Th-they are my only friends to be honest! Since I arrived I been trying to have more friends, because, I d-don't have friends back at Nemo. I am a loner and very antisocial and I have trouble making friends so I j-just stuck with them? D-do I look weird doing it? I am sorry." I played the pity card so perfectly, it was the best curveball I have ever hit on my entire life.

Mina stared at me confused, for a moment

"Oh yeah you don't talk too much to others now that I think about it. Well what are you waiting for! Don't be a stranger you should go out there and meet more of us! Which of us have you liked the most so far"

"Besides Tsuyu and Momo I assume?"

"Yeah!"

"Well Ochaco was great, super nice girl, so gentle, I tried helping her with Izuku the other day-" Wait was I suppose to not say that.

"OH! You tried playing cupid I see? Yeah give that one up trust me, I have been pushing them for at least a year, if I couldn't do it I don't think anyone can! Give them more time, You know what we should do?"

"Hit Izuku hard enough to see if that makes him get amnesia and date Ochaco"

"What? No! What are you talking about"

"I saw it in a movie I am sure it can work"

"I meant for you and your loneliness problem"

"I- am not- Okay continue."

"You need a whole branding of who you are! Put you out there and show the rest of U-A students who you are, you never stay at heights alliance, you never talk with us, never stay to play on saturday nights nor go to karaoke nights"

"You guys have karaoke nights?"

"Yeah! You see! If you want to have the U.A experience you must make as much friends as you can! And I will help you, Do you have the rest of the afternoon and night free?"

"Its going to be noon in like about two hours but yeah I have some time free"

"Cool! Let's go to the mall!"

"What for?"

"We are going to redecorate your room! Show off who you are and what you like"

"Oh!... No."

"What why not?"

"What's wrong with my room right now?

"Jack if anyone was to enter this place everyone would think its empty" She opened the closet without looking at it as Momo just stood there in shock "The only thing in this room its your clothes" She didn't turn to look at the closet as I used my quirk to extend a tendril made out of wood and close it before she would turn around.

"I don't know I don't like decorating my room"

"Any reason for it?"

"Uuuuuuuh-" I thought about the times I decorated my room with paper planes when I was a kid and when I came back from school my mom had not only took away all the paper planes I made but also threw them in the trash because it bothered her when she was looking for her wallet. "I need to go to therapy first chance I get"

"Hm?"

"Nevermind, sure why not I have money to spend"

"I heard your dad was rich is that true?"

"Not my dad but yes, let's go spend as much money as we can and before you try to ask about my personal life, let's just ignore it, I don't want to depress more people with my dumb background"

"Hmmmm okay! Let's get going"

"Shouldn't I put on something els- Actually no! I like my look I will go to the mall like this"

"Pft? You sure"

"Yeah I wanna show off." I quickly locked the closet with my quirk creating a small knot between the handle and the lock with a wooden stick as I knew there was a chance Momo might run after me.

"Okay then hero! Let's get going!" She walked out of the door before I turned to look at my closet with the biggest smug I have ever had before running out of the room.

A few seconds of silence passed until Momo tried opening her closet just to realise it was blocked "Jack I swear to-!"

Location: Shopping Mall

"Thanks for paying the taxi"

"No problem, I find so stupid that you cannot use your quirks to transport yourself, at my island we can use our quirks freely, well you need to pass a test for it first but still, quirk freedom should be better"

"There was a group that believed in quirk freedom and they became terrorists, I would rather not talk about it"

"Oh my bad. Sheesh... Still we could've reach with my quirk in no time"

"Yeah yeah... Okay! What is your favorite things, your hobbies, likes, whatever"

"I like board games! They are great"

"Well I don't think we can decor your room with board games"

"Why not." I said with a serious look

"Because we need posters, bedsheets, cool furniture, things that show off who you really are! But we can buy some board games as well"

"This about decorating my room is weird"

"Wow you really have never done this before have you? Well what is your dream bedroom in your mind" Don't say Tsu and Momo naked in my bed.

"Uuuuuh pretty things?"

"Well we get some pretty things. What else?"

"You do know this is my money?"

"How much you have, right!" I showed her the ammount of money before she looked at me with a bit of an annoyed face

"So you are actually rich huh..."

"Fine okay let's spend plenty, but we cannot carry all that stuff back home"

"We can order a cab again, don't worry and I will help you carry all the things there"

"Well- I like board games, maybe something with board games and there was this little shop that recently opened with a lot of hero stuff, I saw some dolls- Collectable, figurines, about you guys and I want to buy some of Momo and Tsuyu and I want to buy them some gifts too if I am honest, so I would like to get something nice for them"

"Awww... You sure you don't like like them"

"I also want hmmm. I want a cool looking blanket if I am honest"

"Like what?"

"Uuuuuh, have you seen hello kitty?"

"Th-the kitty? The pink one?"

"Yeah! There is this black cat, Kuromi, I would like that, it looks kinda cute and cool and goth all at once, I used to be very punk you know" Mina didn't say anything about that "Maybe some rock band posters! There should be something like that around here"

"Okay we are getting somewhere! What else?"

"I want also a big T.V to watch movies and a lot of movies and a place to place movies, but not like good movies or recent movies I want cheesy, bad, old or iconic movies, I used to watch those all the time"

"Okay we can do a T.V with your budget"

"AND I would like a big bed, a big big bed, where many people can be sleeping all at once"

"Do you want to do sleepovers?"

"Huh?"

"Sleepovers"

"Oh. Yeah. Of course."

"You are a bit of an airhead when distracted"

"Yeah sorry I just got a lot in my mind recently"

"Well anything else you want?"

"Maybe a mini-fridge? I like cold drinks, I don't drink much **** but I like fruity drinks they are quite nice"

"You uh- Wait hold on, you can drink ****? You are at least 20?"

"I am 20 years old yeah. I swore I answered that to you the first day we met"

"Oh right sorry! I forgot about that!... Soooo you can order alcoholic drinks huh" She looked at the bar

"Why not buy yourself some?"

"Legal age is 20, I am still 19. Well at least until July that is"

"Hold on the minimum age of drinking in Japan is 20? Holy hell, next you are going to tell me people can't carry batteries or can't go out after 9 p.m. Such strict laws"

"You tell me! But there is a drink I been wanting to have, you see there is this thing some special drink that I've been wanting to try, its called a limoncello martini"

"Why not ask for it virgin?"

"Virgin?"

"As in non-alcoholic"

"But the point is to go out drink and get all fuzzy and buzzy! And besides I agree with you! I am an adult! I fight villains, I can have boyfriends, have sex and I belive I should be able to drink as well"

"Huh you can say that word without getting flustered, first person to talk normally with me, alright should've see it coming. Okay you convinced me, but I am not buying anything for me"

"Huh? Why not."

"I don't drink"

"Oooh responsible or something? Limoncello is a fruity drink"

"Is not that, its just when I drink it hits me like a truck"

"So you are weak to ****?"

"Not that either, its uhm- Its hard to explain, okay when you eat meat, you taste the meat, but I can taste every little bit of that meat, the meat, spices, oils, everything that made it, eating was hard as a teenager because I was disgusted very easily until I got the hang of my quirk and started changing the flavour of anything I put on my mouth, drinking a beer for me is like drinking a gallon of it and most of the **** doesn't work like you think. Your bloodstream distributes **** quickly to your brain, kidney, lungs and liver. On average, your liver takes an hour to break down one unit of ****. Mine could break it easily in seconds but if I am accepting of the **** my liver might ignore it, I drink it and will get me drunk very quickly. Same goes for ****, I don't even drink coffee due to the effects it has on me, either my body rejects it like a parasite or accepts it like an elixir."

"Huh your quirk is strange. But I think I can produce alcoholic acid if I drink enough ****"

"Wait what? How do you know that"

"Well I do not know that" She smiled "But its a theory that I would like to get tested"

"I see" I looked at the bar for a moment thinking about it "But we shouldn't I have a work tomorrow"

"I only want one drink... And besides you said that you could reject **** right?"

"Yeah."

"Can't you get drunk and then undo it in the morning?"

"I- W- I - uhm- Well. Yeah I actually can do that, I can remove poison out of my bloodstream removing and processing **** is something that I can do with ease since its a foreigner element in my body"

"Meaning that you have an anti hang-over pill always ready inside your body right?"

"I kinda do?" I looked at the bar again "Okay but just one drink."

One drink later

I went to the bar without Mina as she waited on the open area buying myself two drinks, bartender asked my I.D I handed to her but she looked at me enstranged since the person in my I.D was nothing at all like my face so I had to pull some more documents like my student I.D that had my current face alongside some other legal documents and proof to show it was me, I even showed her that I could shapeshift to prove it and after a while she hand the drinks to me and I went back to Mina.

"You took some time" She said grabbing the cup

"Well I had some issues since I am foreigner and all that"

"Well let's give it a taste" She took a sip as I did as well, I felt what it was made of and it tasted amazing, I coughed a little before sipping some more.

"Woah this tastes great"

"Yeah! I told you!"

"Do you think you can make that alcoholic acid now?"

"I would need like 100 more of these"

"So you just wanted a free drink huh?" She smiled back at me, I got punked. "Yeah you got me"

"How are you feeling?"

"About what?"

"Your brain, is it fuzzy and dizzy and all tired?"

"Nope, not yet, getting drunk takes more time, but I can feel it going all over my body, it feels weird, this is why I don't drink. But good things about this is that whenever I get poisoned or something weird, foreign enters my body my body simply destroys it, I am poison, toxic, venom immune... If I want to"

"That's amazing, you could use that to make antidotes right?"

"Doesn't work like that, let me show you" I pressed my belly as she was a sudden bulge growing under my skin and then something red and green, a small little orb popping out. "I know its gross but bare with me, part of this is my blood part of this is the drink I just took, my body is the thing I can control the most" I showed her with my hand "I can turn myself into metal, glass, wood, all with simple thoughts, my favorite form is diamond to be honest" Each time I mention each material my hand changed to that "But I do not delete the poison I just expell it or get rid of it another why, by example turning it into water, my body doesn't make antidotes, making an antidote is extremely more complicated than just changing an element. I could remove my organs by will with my quirk if I wanted to with ease"

"Oof that's gross but super cool!"

"Yeah."

"So you have fast regeneration as well?"

"Yeah."

"How about super strength"

"At certain degrees"

"Can you stretch?"

"Most definitely"

"Change shapes, like take another person's face?"

"I can but when I do is super uncanny, like you cannot tell if you see me from a distance but up close people notice and I cannot change my voice nor get some details right, but yeah I totally can do that"

"How about changing body parts"

"Done that"

"Really how"

"You are seeing it, the whole Jack you see right now, its what I am right now"

"... Wait so this isn't how you actually look like? You could be a bit fat and short for all I know of right?"

"Fuck no, I have to train to keep this body, using shapeshifting to become strong doesn't work well, its possible but my body gets super confused after a while, but I mean my hair, pupils face, all that I changed it actually"

"So you look this pretty because you want? How does the real you look like" My eye twitched hearing that, almost getting flashbacks of someone telling me those exact words before.

"This is. The real me. Don't get that confused" I sipped what was left of the drink as Mina noticed I was upset now

"Oh. Sorry..."

"No no, its fine you didn't know, its just its a touchy subject... Look I didn't do this because I am someone who enjoys vanity or I was ugly or fat or gross or hated my body or whatever okay, this is how I look because I picture myself looking like this, that's all" I looked at the bar feeling that I was messing this up. "Hey sorry, How about another drink and we keep shopping?"

"No, no its okay! I guess I asked something weird"

"It wasn't weird. Besides my previous body was very pretty like myself"

"Good to know, so we have blankets, furniture, a T.V the bed stuff will be hard we would need a whole moving truck for that"

"Nah I can do with the bed I have, besides I can just" I waved my hand and the cup of the drink shaped sizes and dimensions "Modify it" And after I removed my hand it went back to normal.

"You have a cool quirk"

"The best quirk ever right? I will go get us some more drinks" A few 2 more drinks later we were back on shopping, I looked around the hero store trying to buy something nice for Momo and Tsuyu alongside something for Izuku, I had grabbed an All mights figurine for him but now I was wondering if Momo and Tsuyu would like figurines about them, there was one of each at the least, but their dimensions and faces didn't look like them, it made me a bit upset... I could always change them right? I grabbed both figurines as I looked around. "Hey Mina what do you think that Momo or Tsuyu would like from the store?"

"Hmmmm I think Tsuyu would like something that doesn't occupy much space and its functional, I have seen her room and she likes it when it feels like back at home"

"Where did she live? Was it like a forest or-"

"No, she had an apartment as normal, but she does have that usual frog quirk style so her room has a heater and a nice temperature for her, alongside a comfortable bed and the floor is also fully decorated with a rug" Huh. Tsuyu has never invited me to her room

"I see she likes comfort, hmmm. Then none of this will work for her, I can bring her comfort any time I want and then again something functional something that she can use"

"What was that comfort part?"

"I don't think I know if she would like so- Oh wait no yeah I do! We need to go to another store in a moment. And now something nice for Momo. She wants some pretty clothes she always wants something nice and cute, some cool aesthetic you know?"

"Are you sure you don't like either of them?"

"Oh I really really like them, but I am too chicken to say those words exactly, specially the word love, its such a hard word for me"

"What?"

"They make me oddly happy I only wish that they don't end up hating me like everyone else, I want to kiss their faces every time I see them, I don't want to mess this up you know, but I pretty much feel that I can make them happy and maybe if I do well they will not hate me"

"... Hey Jack can you turn to see me?"

"Yeah sure, Why?"

"Oh god! You are drunk drunk" She tried to not laugh

"Yup! I told you that once my body accepts something, it accepts all of it, but don't worry my body is working super hard to delete all negative effects but as the **** makes me feel uuuh happier I think its making me feel all fuzzy and funny inside, so I am totally drunk without the hungover effects later on, mmmaybe if I focus I can remove it, since drunkness is just a way of saying that you are poisoned"

"Huh! Hey What was that about Momo and Tsu again?" She said with a smirk wanting to make me talk about my relation with them and I didn't know what I was saying really since all my worries and inhibitions were gone.

"Hm? Uuuuh that I like them a lot, hey let's go to the clothes store I will go buy something for Momo and then to a pet store" We paid for the figurine for Izuku and I went to the other place.

"And what is your relation with them?"

"I can't say that sorry, I am not that drunk but I can tell you that all I want is their happiness"

"Well aren't you cute, What about Nemo? Is there someone you like at Nemo? Or do you only like those two girls" She wanted to get as much sweet romantic drama out of me and she might regret those words.

"Nope, I think everyone hates me now and with good reason I messed up, all the higher ranks are bastards that want to destroy me with exception of insect-o-mania but that's because he is a sicko that would fuck a bug most likely and he is as much of a loner as I am"

"Uhm- I meant someone that you like as in want to date"

"Oh! Not anymore, my ex retired from heroism once Trivia took power, she got tired of him, I am scared of that guy he is the devil in my eyes"

"Maybe I should've asked another thing?" I turned the corner to the clothes store "H-how about people you like there and that like you"

"Uuuuuh... Mimic probably? But that's because she is another weirdo that no one likes for being an annoying woman and maybe Sirli, now that I think about it one of the twins must like me too we flinged when I broke up with my ex"

"As in- Casual sex?"

"Yeah, the other twin hates me however and with good reason I am douchebag" I grabbed on some hoodie, shorts, cute underwear, I thought on Momo having one of those Neet oversized hoodies look, I never saw her like that. "That's why I don't want to mess this up, I love this place, I wish everyone was as nice as this but I miss having friends really and I miss Portis, I wish I had not mess that one up she was my best friend ugh, why do I let my horny brain ruin every relationship I get. I fucking hate myself so much, I cannot ruin this second chance"

"... Uhm- Hey how about we stop talking about this for a moment, I kind of regret asking about it"

"Its okay I don't mind Mina"

"Jack you are drunk- And now that I thnk about it, it was a bad idea making you drink that"

"Oh yeah you are partially responsible of that, sorry to pin some blame on you. I want to go home and hug Momo, today is her turn for hugs"

"W-what?"

"Hey I got the clothes I am going to go pay them" I went ahead and paid for the clothes before leaving. At this point we were carrying al the stuff in a shopping cart, we had gotten so much and I was pushing it with Mina pushing a second cart behind. "Mina can I ask you the favour to not let Tsuyu know that I got drunk please? Also Momo I guess but she is nicer to me, but she shouldn't"

"Ah s-sure?"

"She would scold me and I tease her and bother her too much but that's because I am not sure how to act around her, I love getting reactions out of her, she is very pretty, I want to kiss her face but I really really don't want her to hate me, ugh everytime she looks mad it makes me feel like I am doing a horrible job I don't like crying so I don't cry but if she was to hate me I think I would cry, same applies for Momo but if Momo gets mad at me it will be on me due to how pure and perfect she is and I am not..."

"We should get you some water"

"Yeah I am talking a lot, that's why I am getting the other thing, last thing on the list" I was on the pet store as I entered without doubting for a moment.

"Jack when I said something frog like, I don't mean a frog, or frog food"

"I know, that's why I am not getting that, I am getting a shock collar" I looked around the place for that.

"Tsuyu doesn't have a dog"

"Woof."

"What?"

"Nothing its a silly joke, but a bottom would've laugh, I am certain"

"Hey you get the collar and I will get you some water"

"Okay, I like you Mina you are kinda cool, I bet Tsuyu would be okay with you too! She is great I won't dissapoint her, ever again, not again"

"Its a bit scary of you to say that with a straight face"

"I need some water yeah" She rushed out as I get the collar and waited on a bench looking at all the stuff I got. Wondering if that was enough. Is it ever enough? Would I be able to face all the Nemo students when I am back? Well not everyone hates me but I know no one likes me. Those that don't like me don't know me enough maybe make friends with them. How much time do I have left before everyone at U.A finds out I am a fake and a bad person.

My eyes suddenly started to tear, I was crying for a moment, but my face expression didn't show any sadness.

I needed to stop crying before Mina came back. At least I found out today that I was a sad drunk.
