Pete tries to leave Seraphine
I tried to pull away from Seraphine’s mesmerizing gaze but it was like trying to escape quicksand. Her eyes held mine captive, and she leaned in closer, her breath warm on my cheek. "You have such a strong aura," she murmured, her lips brushing against the shell of my ear. “Full of life.”
"Uh-huh," I mumbled, feeling strangely lightheaded. My gaze flicked to Myka a few asiles over, who was staring at us with narrowed eyes and an expression that screamed 'God Pete, not again?'
Seraphine didn't seem to notice. She tilted her head slightly, a playful glint in those obsidian eyes. "Would you like to see something truly special?" she asked, her voice dropping to a silken whisper. “Something… unique?”
"Sure," I managed, my brain struggling to keep up with the sudden rush of blood to my groin.
She took my hand then, her touch sending another jolt through me. Her skin was cool and smooth beneath mine, like polished marble. She led me towards a section of her booth draped in black velvet curtains, murmuring something about needing "a moment" as she pulled me behind them. Myka disgusted with the usual playboy Pete continued her artifact search.
The space behind the curtain was surprisingly small – just enough room for two people to stand close together. The air here felt different too - heavier, charged with a strange energy that prickled my skin. Seraphine turned to face me then, her eyes blazing in the dim light filtering through the velvet. She smiled again, and this time it wasn't playful – it was predatory.
"You have such beautiful blood," she breathed, tilting her head as if studying me like a rare specimen under a microscope. "So vibrant."
