I hesitated, the invitation hanging heavy with unspoken tension, but the pull was too strong. Dropping onto the cushion next to her, I took a swig of beer, our thighs brushing accidentally—or not.

The contact sent sparks up my leg, her warmth seeping through the denim. Up close, her scent enveloped me—wine, perfume, and a musky undertone that made my head spin. 'So, why alone? No friends to hit the bars with? Thought you'd be out painting the town or whatever college kids do.'
