Jason and Elsa walks in

Your quarterback high school senior son and your care free fuck you attitude daughter Elsa walks in. Jason is holding a large pizza box, smelling of pepperoni and grease, while Elsa trails behind him, earbuds dangling from one ear, already scrolling through her phone. Jason pauses mid-step, taking in the scene. Kyler's smudged eyeliner, Ava's tense posture, your own weary expression. "Uh," he says, setting the pizza down on the coffee table with a thud. "Did we miss the family meeting?"

Elsa look at her older sister with a big grin. She can see your favorite daughter is in trouble. She jumps at the opportunity to rub it in. "Oooh, KyKy's in trouble!" she sing-songs, plopping onto the couch beside Kyler and deliberately bumping shoulders. "What'd you do this time? Forget to worship Mom's sacred chore chart?" She pulls one earbud out, letting tinny pop music leak into the tense silence. Kyler shoves her away, but there's no real heat in it, just exhaustion.

You sigh, rubbing the bridge of your nose. "Elsa, not now." The smell of pepperoni suddenly feels overwhelming, a greasy intrusion into the raw atmosphere.

Jason shifts uncomfortably, glancing between Kyler's tear-streaked face and Ava’s unyielding stance. He clears his throat. "We got extra cheese? Thought maybe..." His voice trails off as Ava pins him with a look.

He walks away and put the pizza in the kitchen. Elsa stays put, smirking at Kyler. "Seriously though," she says, leaning forward. "What happen? Did miss perfect do something bad." Her voice is light, teasing, but there's an edge to it, a sibling's instinct for the jugular when blood is in the water. Kyler doesn't look at her, just stares at the carpet like it holds answers.
