Chapter 105 by AwesomePossum AwesomePossum

What's next?

Dinner With Heidi.

Vi and Ari spend the weekend together, girls' weekend or some shit Ari said. I’m theorising that they’re planning some bullshit. Some teasing game. Orrrr, they are just hanging out. It is summer break, to be fair. Regardless, I am bored as shit. I pull on a hoodie and make my way down to the dorm room lobby. It’s been a while since I’ve been on a stroll, and sometimes I feel like I don’t have a usual life… Things be happening to me, it’s like I’m living in a video game, or something. Nothing. Event. Nothing. Event. Nothing. Event. Yet despite that feeling. I still have to do exams.

I step out of the elevator, and my eyes fall on the fit, blonde receptionist… Which I have neglected to even acknowledge the existence of. She glances over, a familiar smile on her face, and the way her face drops sends a shiver down my spine. Yeah… This one is on me. I sheepishly stroll over and put a hand on the desk, but she doesn’t glance away from the monitor.

“Heeey, Heidi… How you beeeen?”

“Good.”
You’d have a hard time believing it’s summer with the breezy wind in this reception area.
“Sorry.” I cringe as I look at her.

She sucks on her gums and peers at me over the rim of her glasses “Not even a text.” She pretends to text on a non-existent phone. “Heeey bestie, just checking in on you after cheating on my girlfriend and eating you out, how you doing?” She looks up with a disapproving glare.

I furrow my brow apologetically. “Yeah - “

She cuts me off, clearly not done. “You ask me to study, and then what? Get a snack in, and then ignore me for three weeks? You literally walked past me on the way out and didn’t even look at me.”

I HAVE to suppress the laugh I feel bubbling in my throat with her snack comment; I barely manage to stay composed.
“I know. Exams and everything, let me buy you dinner, at a proper nice place?”
“And flowers.” That’s not a question.
“Of course. Tomorrow night?”
She nods.
“Then it’s a date.” I smile as I tap the desk.
Her cheeks go rosy, and she shakes her head, but I see the smile on her lips; she turns back to the monitor.
