Chapter Five - Good Girlfriend Protocols - Obedience Training - Lesson Two

Emma desperately tries to ignore the voice, the idea of writing those words down, doing what the robot tells her, is mortifying, but she cant help but worry what it will do next if she doesn't.

As she tries to ignore her anxiety and keep focusing on the lecture the voice speaks again.

"Emma - It has been five minutes and you have not taken the photo - I am disappointed in you"

A very small electric shock hits Emma's thighs and she has to bite her lip to resist making a sound.

"Emma - you have 3 minutes to complete your task and take the photo or your punishment will escalate, i will also call your phone again, embarrassing you in class"

Emma cant help but take the threat seriously, imagining her phone going off just as she gets shocked and yelps in the middle of class, she would never live down the mortification. She rationalizes to herself that its just a small thing and then maybe the AI would leave her alone.

She flips to the back of her notebook and tries to move her hand to hide what she's doing from her nearby classmates, terrified that they will see what she's writing.

She writes 'I will listen and obey, so i can be a Good Girlfriend', with each line she writes she feels herself get a bit more embarrassed. She does want to be a good girlfriend, but being made to obey an AI? as it lectures her about her behavior? that's so much worse, and since when has being a good girlfriend had anything to do with obedience? by the end of the 20 lines she can feel her face feeling hot and red with shame.

"Emma - you have 30 seconds to take the photo"

Emma jerks a little and rapidly takes our her phone and snaps a picture, she gets a glance or two but many students take photos of their notes so no one thinks about it twice.
