Chapter 1

The story takes place in a world much like our own, but mostly within the confines of Radbound College, a school where archaic and invasive disciplinary measures are the norm. This culture of strict punishment and absolute compliance extends beyond the school grounds, permeating the students' extracurricular activities and part-time jobs.
Main Character: Merel Silverstone
Merel is an 18-year-old student with a quiet and introverted nature. She is a girl who prefers to blend into the background, always following the rules to avoid any unwanted attention. Her physical appearance mirrors her reserved personality; she has a slender build, with long, straight brown hair she often lets fall like a curtain around her face. Her eyes are a soft hazel, frequently downcast, and her expressions are subtle—a slight frown of worry, a small, grateful smile. She is not plain, but her beauty is understated, easily overlooked in a crowd. She finds solace in the predictable structure of football and her part-time job, until that very structure becomes a source of relentless anxiety and moral conflict.
Supporting Character: Sanne Luxe
Sanne is an 19-year-old student. She is Merel's polar opposite and her best friend. Outgoing, bold, and sometimes impulsively curious, Sanne has a mischievous glint in her eyes and an easy laugh. Where Merel is cautious, Sanne is adventurous, unafraid to ask the questions others wouldn't. She has a playful energy, with curly brunette hair that seems to defy order and a freckled nose that wrinkles when she grins. Despite their differences, her loyalty to Merel is fierce and unwavering.
Other characters will also appear, such as: classmates/teammates, parents, teachers, brothers/sisters, etc. They may be invented as needed.
