Chapter 6 : A Fashionable Assignment
TUESDAY
Clara was a ghost in her own apartment. She had been awake since 4:00 AM, her body a taut, vibrating wire stretched to its absolute breaking point. The agonizing, unfulfilled ache between her legs had become the central fact of her existence, the sun around which her every thought and sensation orbited. She had dressed for work in another of her severe, corporate outfits, the friction of the fabric a constant, maddening caress, but she hadn't left her apartment. She simply stood in her living room, amidst the mountain of shopping bags, and waited. She was a soldier on standby, awaiting her orders.
At precisely 8:00 AM, her phone chimed. An email.
**FROM:** Julian Vance
**SUBJECT:** Task: Asset Cataloging & Demonstration
Clara's breath hitched. She opened it, her hands trembling. The text was as clean, cold, and brutally efficient as its author.
1. You will not come to the office today.
2. You will unbox and prepare all assets procured yesterday.
3. For each clothing asset, you will create a short-form video file (.mp4 format).
4. In each video, you will model the asset from all angles (front, side, rear) and deliver a single, clear, invitational statement declaring the asset's purpose.
5. Following the clothing assets, you will catalog the training aids, creating a separate video for each, demonstrating your understanding of its function.
6. You will compile all files into a single compressed folder labeled 'CLARA_ASSETS_Q1' and upload it to the secure server link provided below.
7. The deadline for upload is 5:00 PM today.
8. The no-release protocol remains in effect until you receive direct, explicit counter-instruction.
That was it. No greeting, no sign-off. Just a list of commands. A project brief.
A wave of something—not disappointment, but a fresh, terrifying surge of **** energy—crashed through her. This was her work for the day. A performance. An audition. She had to be perfect. She had to be pleasing.
Her living room became a film set. She dragged her coffee table out of the way, creating a clear space in front of a plain, cream-colored wall. She found a cheap tripod she’d bought years ago for a photography class and mounted her phone to it, angling it to capture her full body. The lighting from the window was too harsh, so she drew the blinds, creating a soft, dim intimacy, turning on a single floor lamp for a warm, focused glow. The world outside ceased to exist. There was only this room, the unblinking eye of the camera, and the mountain of tasks before her.

Corporate Synergy
New employees need to find there place, be an asset
Julian Vance is very particular about what is expected out of his employees, they must conform to his way of running things, projects only work well if all parts perform in synergy, be an asset
