Arc 3: Catching up with Hero work

The morning after

Ochaco was on the shower while I was downstairs making some breakfast while making some research, made sure to update both girls on what happened last night, seemingly Momo seemed a bit upset and said she wanted to talk with me later, I was a bit surprised at that. Perhaps I did something that upset her which made me feel even more nervous now, I didn't want any drama nor screaming, not like the previous relationships. But after taking a few deep breaths I regained some breath, recollect my thoughts and was ready to face almost anything to be honest.

I was trying to investigate what I saw before about Dianna, she seemed to be a hero in the past, little to no information about her, she always avoided interviews, appearing in the newspaper or commentary was someone who had mentioned before that heavily disliked fame and attention, she apparently had two parents in hero business as well, she was fairly active until the years of Shigaraki until she dissapeared... It was quite weird but I knew it had to be related in some way, however there are no mentions of a speedster hero in the final war against Shigaraki and AFO.

There must be something that I am missing.

Eventually she came downstairs wearing some of Tsu's clothes, I wanted to ask why she was still wearing them but I wasn't going to bother her to be honest "Smells good what are you cooking?" She asked casually

"Hm oh, just some pancakes nothing too fancy- Hope you like them however"

"I like them" She leaned closer to read what I was reading "Is that girl again. I know you might be defensive about it but should I be worried about this? About her... Last night you were quite nervous when I read it"

"Oh well yeah sorry, I mean- Hmmm okay just don't tell the others about this, I don't care if you tell Tsu or Momo but this is the girl that attacked me last night"

"I see... Not too heroic if you ask me" She proceeded to try and sit down, but as her butt touched the seat she yelped in pain grabbing her butt.

"Oh yeah! Should've told you to be careful sitting down, sorry. It tends to hurt specially with how intense we were last night"

"WHY DIDN'T YOU GO SLOWER"

"You asked me to go faster if we are pointing who to blame and you were pushing back, I was being slow most the time, I was happy with you being a pillow princess until you got into it"

"Y-you started calling me all those cute things, wh-what did you wanted me to do" She stood up rubbing her butt for a moment letting the pain ease "Classes will suck now"

"I can heal you up and ease up the pain a little"

"Really?"

"Yup, all I have to do is touch your butt for like 1 hour maybe" I grinned at her before she looked upset at me

"I know where we are going to end up if I let you do that"

"Says you- I am very well self controlled" I started to chuckle at the sound of that standing up to check on the pancakes, Ochaco took my laptop and kept on reading some more while I finished cooking breakfast, serving the pancakes, placing syrup, some blueberries on them, the chocolate ready and went back to the living room as she kept reading with a worried look on her face. "I can buy you something for the pain instead later then, its just a cream I am sure the pharmaceutical must have it... I could make it out of the wood in the house but last time I did that Momo said that I shouldn't do that because that's immoral in a way? Because its like stealing but its my quirk, I don't know Japan has weird norms when it comes to quirk freedom"

"I am alright- I will stay standing for a while"

"Sure- Uhm hey- Actually no nevermind sorry not the best moment to talk about it but... Maybe later okay?" She looked confused but went back to reading from my laptop

"Jack did you know that this Diana graduated from your academy?"

"Wait what?"

"Class number 1, 15 years ago, Dianna graduated top of her class, she wasn't just a normal random girl to graduate, she was top of her class and the first class to graduate since the opening of the academy, what you have here its probably not just a strong girl but rather the strongest girl that ever came out of the island if we are talking about experience"

"Huh so that's what she meant about doing my homework, no wonder Yoshi wanted me to read this thing- Also 15 years ago? Damn those hero girls really age like fine wine, I wonder if I will look that good in my 30's"

"We need to tell the teachers"

"WOAH WOAH HOLD ON THERE PLEASE THANK YOU!" My shouting got her shocked for a moment "Ochaco, sorry, but please don't get anyone, I mean anyone involved, I can do this on my own please"

"Jack-"

"PLEASE, Seriously please, let me do this alone please, this is me practically begging you to not get anyone else involved, look I know that I am hiding something big and this is a bad bad idea okay, I can't let this blow up however this is also my fault- in a way, I cannot tell you right now but please I need to find out what they have between hands, if this goes out of proportions and blows up all over me- I- I will tell everyone... And most likely go back to Nemo and most likely will not stay here and not graduate and- Well... I don't think you guys would see me in a good good while if ever. My dad - Look just please don't tell anyone" I was so nervous right now, the reason why I was here still lingered above my head with the idea of taking over hero agencies, I wasn't going to help my dad as he wanted.

She looked at me with a worried look but nodded "Okay, I will not tell anyone- but as long as you promise me something"

"I am listening"

"You come talk to me when you are in trouble, any type of trouble, doesn't matter how big or small, just come talk to me. I've had friends, people that have been hurt due to no one being there for them, I believe you can do it alone but if you need help I will be there to help you, I want to be the hero that helps other heroes and for that you need to be willing to let yourself be helped right?"

"Fine... You know you are a great friend Ochaco, I am kind of pissed that Izuku is not dating you right now"

"That's just us and you know, you helped me with it, meaning that I must help you back now. Please Jack trust us on this one if you ever need help let us know and no need to tell the teachers, just us okay? Picture me like a friend you can talk with about stuff that you cannot talk with others"

"I mean I will tell Tsu and Momo too most likely, I kind of- sort of have to?"

"Sure but its good to know someone is willing to listen right?"

"Right- Yeah right, okay... Thanks"

She smiled at me and suddenly hugged me as I was more worried about getting them involved more than anything else, Momo was already part of it, with Tsuyu training with Yoshi made me hesitant of telling her now Ochaco wanting to support me, this felt wrong, all this time I been doing this on my own and now I am getting so much help- I couldn't simply let them down.

"Everything okay Jack?"

"Yeah all is alright. You should get dressed so we can go to school, its weird you guys have classes on saturdays out of all days to be honest"

"Today is hero work Jack"

"CRAP I need to go meet up with Izuku today! And tuesday as well... Her mom is such a great woman, she said she is such a wonderful person, I need to look proper and presentable for her later, I don't want to make her angry"

"I doubt you will make her angry but makes me happy to hear. Hey I know you are a bit of a secretive more reserved guy but can I ask, Why do you never tell us about your home place?"

"My home? Well there is nothing interesting about it"

"One of the few man-made islands in the world and that is not interesting? Its talking about your home a sensitive topic? D-do you dislike where you come from?"

"Hm no. I mean not really- Sort of- I guesssssss? Is just that these last year and a half has been rough on me and well my background is not the best either"

"Oh... I see..."

"Is there something you wanted to ask me about it?"

"... You called me Portis, so I wanted to ask about her"

"She was a friend and- Well she kinda hates me now, that's all, you have the same hair colour and she wore a bowlcut like you before"

"This hair is not a bowlcut Jack. Its a bob haircut with bangs on the sides" She seemed upset about me confusing the haircut

"..." I decided to not comment as my hair was messy and un-groomed 99% of the time "Kay."

"Continue"

"Well that's all- I don't like to think about that, besides, what happened was as much as her fault as mine, but she never admitted she was in the wrong as well so I guess we just lost communication"

She had a thoughtful expression staring at me as if trying to figure out what happened "Its okay, I won't ask you more about it but if you ever want to talk offer is open. Jack you should talk to her again, time heals all wounds and perhaps you two can be friends again? Eventually. Come on tell me about the rest of your friends" I cringed my face, closed my eyes and thought about it, Did I have any other friends?

"W-Well, let's just get you to the academy in one piece you know, hero work and all, you don't want to be late, its getting quite late and probably your friends wonder where you are right now"

"Oh- Okay..." She gave me those eyes, those damn puppy eyes, it was like a quirk of their own as if forcing me to tell her the truth so I wouldn't feel bad and she wouldn't feel sad.

"Fine, fine. Okay so-" I touched the chair next to her creating a soft pillowy seat for her to sit without any pain as I sat on the chair next to her, she quickly sit looking at me with a smile "There is a total of 16 of us not to brag, but we are all very darn strong compared to some of you guys, but they all have their fun quirks" I shoot a smug smile at her

"Ooooh strong you say? I would like to let you know that last year I ended first on a martial arts tournament"

"Well, not to brag again, but unlike your academy we were made to fight villains, since most events of helping people and enviroment trouble never happen there we have focused ourselves in fighting and going abroad to other countries to help out police forces and even the army- Which also explains our military background too and that also explains teh very hostile behaviour"

"Who is the funniest in your opinion? Not quirk necessarily, but I would like to hear if they are more- Interesting besides fighting"

"Well there is a few I can think that have weird quirks, number 6 can make giant insects, number 15 'Frisbee' is just a funny quirk where he controls a frisbee and Trivia's quirk is a bit more complex than you think but its not weird weird- However there is this girl you know, number 16, that she is sooo quirky but not in the way they have a quirk, she is just too weird, on year one her costume was a [power ranger] uhm- What are they called in Japan uhhhhh OH RIGHT- Super Sentai you see? But she was Sentai Rainbow! All colours"

"That's funny"

"But then year two she was dressing like a total superhero archetype, cape, mask, underwear out and she said that since she was a girl, her bra must be out as well! It was the roughest year for her. She even got fined for exhibitionism by mistake, from there she was a clown, a painter, an afro dancer which was honestly a bit insulting and racist I guess, she is white so-"

Uraraka giggled as she heard me speak of my classmates, perhaps things would get better for me

"Anyone strong or anyone that reminds you of here?"

"Well if you want strong- Its Trivia but uhm- Hmmmmmmm there was this girl I really disliked her hero name was Sky Witch and she is like always angry like Bakugo, so mad and screams and super cocky she makes the same frown and everything maybe that's why I don't like that guy too much, and then there is this guy Draw, he totally has a crush on her, super toxic couple if they end up together"

"Want to tell me more?"

"Do you really want to hear more?"

"I would love to-"

"Well... How about someone Gross now?..."

"..."

Meanwhile

"HOT DIGGITY DOG... THIS PLACE IS MAGNIFICENT"

"Don't get too jumpy, Dreeeeeew... We are here on a mission"

"Hey! Hero names! That way its cooler, we stay secretive and mysterious. Man you two should've wore your heroes outfit today, I look good right now, stunning even, those chicks from the train were totally checking me out- But whatever, Can't believe I am getting paid a thousands of dollars just to blow up a fucking construction zone, actually how much is in dollars all that yen money giving us? Where we going again, Gross where we going?"

"Please, refer to me with my name, unlike you I asked you nicely the first time, I don't want to use my nickname here to be honest so I prefer my real name. We are going to Deika City, nowadays has a new name New Deika city- Dei from mud, Ka from flower, apparently our new guests will be having a certain special mission there as well so we can take an advantage of that."

"Fuck yeah, I am burning, I feel so hot right now, I been eager to get one of these guys for a while... Man I want to fight this Izuku guy soooo bad! He is the equivalent of our number one if not stronger, I want to grow, I want to get powerful and be able to destroy anyone in my way. What do you think Gross"

"If you are not refering to me with my name this is as far as our talk will go. Also when I go out I will need one of you to translate for me, my japanese is very very bad- As for Deku he is off limits, this an actual rule from above we are not to interact with him."

"Wah wah- Come on man I am just kidding- Besides we still have some free time before we go there, I want to explore Japan, take all the views, go to mountain Fuji and wait for Adam's signal- After that we report, so what do you say [Mamacita] Want to go have fun?"

"Yeah, Gross let's go before Drew pisses me off."

"Oi use hero names! Its cooler that way!"

"Your hero name is your real fucking name, with a fucking 'a' instead of an 'e' grow the fuck up and be a man!"

"So loud woman! You sure you don't want to go have fun, I am thinking we stay a few days, we enjoy ourselves, we wait for Adam, but right now I kind of want to explore this place, What do you all think?"

"I like that idea at least"

"His idea is to have fun before working of course its a good idea, he is a moron"

"You are just jealous baby gurl"

"Also let's not forget the last part- You know what he said to us"

"You mean what Adam said or what-"

"He means Jack, your boyfriend is really upset at Jack leaving Nemo, he is one complain away from coming here himself and once he does he is going to be pissed at all of us, he is already pissed and we are practically doing his work for him anyways that way he doesn't move us a rank down, or even worse takes us as sparing partners-"

"You might like sparing with him but we don't have the same strength" Gross shivered as he looked at Drew

"We need to find Jack as well and see what's his deal with Adam, whether if he is helping or not, cause if we don't. All the money and this whole trip would be a waste"

"So in other words, the name of the game is 'Find Jack and beat the truth out of him?' "

"The name of the game is get as much info as we can and follow Adam's orders" Gross stepped closer "Come on, let's behave now, we still have some days before this starts, let's relax"
