How About Some Games

The weight of David's unspoken question still hangs in the air, but your enhanced mental clarity helps you recognize that the evening's intensity needs a release valve. You clap your hands together decisively, the gold bracelet tinkling against your wrist.

"Enough serious talk," you announce, your Irish lilt adding a playful bounce to your words. "Let's play a drinking game!"

Clara's eyebrows shoot up, a smile spreading across her face. "On a Monday? You're trouble, Mia O'Sullivan."

David seems relieved at the change of subject, his shoulders visibly relaxing. "What did you have in mind?"

"How about Never Have I Ever?" you suggest, gathering the empty Thai containers and moving them to the side. "Simple rules, maximum embarrassment."

"God, I haven't played that since university," Clara laughs, but she's already holding out her wine glass for David to refill.

"That's the point," you say, the confidence boost still flowing through you, making everything feel deliciously easy. "We're all being so proper. Let's have some fun."

David tops off everyone's glasses, his eyes lingering on you a beat longer than necessary. "Rules for those of us who might be rusty?"

"Someone says 'never have I ever' and then something they've never done," you explain, settling back into your chair. The emerald silk of your dress shifts against your skin, reminding you of your bare state beneath it. "If you've done it, you drink. Simple."

"Ladies first," David says, gesturing to you with his glass.

You tap your finger against your lips thoughtfully, the IQ boost helping you choose something that will set the right tone without diving too deep too quickly.

"Never have I ever..." you pause dramatically, "skinny dipped."

Clara immediately takes a sip, as does David. You raise your eyebrows at both of them.

"Summer in Santorini," Clara explains with a mischievous grin.

"Hampstead Heath ponds, lost a bet," David adds, his expression softening with the memory.

Clara straightens, her turn next. "Never have I ever kissed someone of the same gender."

You take an exaggerated sip, making eye contact with Clara over the rim of your glass. She blushes prettily, taking her own drink. To both your surprise, David also takes a small sip.

"University," he says simply when you both stare at him. "Experimental phase."

"Full of surprises, aren't you?" Clara teases.

David's smile turns sly as he considers his question. "Never have I ever..." he pauses, looking directly at you, "had sex in an office."

Your cheeks flame instantly as you lift your glass to your lips, memories of Clara's office just hours ago flooding back. Clara drinks too, the two of you exchanging heated glances.

"Interesting," David murmurs, watching the interaction between you.

The game continues, questions growing progressively more revealing as the wine bottle empties. By the third round, Clara has moved her chair closer to yours, her hand occasionally brushing your thigh under the table. David keeps pace with the drinking but watches you both with increasingly hungry eyes.
