Chapter 3

What happens at school?
Normal stuff.
Thankfully, the walk to school was rather uneventful, relatively speaking. Yes, I did sit down infront of a dog peeing on a pole to let him soak the girly yellow sundress I decided to wear to school so that I got properly bullied and made fun of. Then, I added my pee to it, soaking my own clothes. I made sure to soak my bag with all my books as well.
The first class was history. When the teacher, Mr. Harrison, called for submissions, I walked up and placed the wet, crumpled ball on his desk. Mr. Harrison glanced at it, then back at me. "Ah" was all he said as he gave a knowing nod, "As expected." He made a note in his grade book, completely unperturbed. Another zero. Another consequence I had deliberately engineered for myself; and another casual acceptance.
Later, walking through the crowded hallway, I spotted Sarah, my crush. Her laugh, bright and musical, drifted over from her locker. My heart did a familiar lurch, a mix of longing and adolescent awkwardness. I wanted to tell her she had the prettiest smile, that I thought about her all the time. I decided I should stop being a coward and just go ask her out.
Does it go as planned?

Curse of Self-Sabotage
Tom MUST ruin his life. It is normal.
Tom has been cursed. He now feels the compulsion to ruin his life and his life's work at every step. He feels conflicted but must go through with his urges to destroy everything he works hard for. The worst part? Everyone else feels that he is acting completely normal. Tom can't explain his misfortune to anyone. Examples of Tom's antics: Tom finally finishes that project he had been working hard at all Summer? Great. Now he must pee on it and soak it wet. Then he tears it to shreds and submits it to his teacher. Without batting an eye, his teacher understands that this is normal for Tom and just gives him a zero. Tom feels like asking his crush out on a date? He goes and tells her that he hates her and asks an ugly girl out to date. Finally bought a new phone after saving for months? Great, now give it away to some random meth-head on the street. Oh, you reason that you would be doing a good thing by donating it and that makes you feel good? Well, we can't have that, can we? Better option, smash the phone to pieces and throw it away. That's better. Have to study for your SATs? Sit around writing Erotica for hours on end. Break up with your girlfriend, if you have one. Haha! Adopt a random homeless person's kid and drop out of school. OMG! The possibilities are endless!
