Nightmarish reality

I didn't know how long I slept but, when I woke up, I noticed that I was in a room made of concrete. I wasn't tied up or gagged anymore. The room only had a heavy steel door as the only way in or out, it was the kind that I wouldn't be able to slip under even if I left Kira's body.

"Finally awake?" I heard the voice of Liliana, the chief of security, coming from a speaker on the top-left corner of the room, right next to a thick ballistic glass window.

Behind that glass were Liliana and Harper, both grinning menacingly at me. Liliana was casually sitting on a chair with a gun in her hands, while Harper was standing next to her, her hands behind her back.

"How was your little nap?” Liliana asked.

"What's the meaning of this, Liliana, Harper?!” I tried to keep acting like Kira, hoping that they'd buy it.

Liliana raised her gun towards me, disdain and hatred clear on her face. "Disgusting creatures aren't allowed to call me by my name."

“What are you talking about?!"

Liliana snickered. "Still playing dumb? We know you have entered Kira's body and are controlling her.”

How the fuck did you know… I wondered.

Harper was the one to speak. “After you left my body, I went to check the security room and watched the camera footage, as I didn't believe I could just forget how I ended up in Kira's office."

Cameras?

"But there's no camera inside the office!"

Liliana smirked. "I installed one without Kira knowing. I've been pretty disappointed by her lack of results, and decided to observe how she works. And I wanted to keep an eye on her in case she were to… betray my trust. When Harper came to see me, wondering how she came back from the forest and what she did in Kira's office, I told her about it and we watched the footage together."

Harper nodded. "I paid close attention to when I was in her office, and caught a glimpse of a green thing leaving my mouth and entering Kira's when I kissed her. I then remembered that I got attacked by a young woman in the forest, and that something entered my body when she kissed me, and warned the chief."

I couldn't help but grit my teeth. Harper... You smart bitch…

Liliana and Harper were smirking at me. "Judging by your facial expression, we were right. Now, I have a few questions for you… Are you a friend of that demon we captured? Did you come here to try to save it?"

I was scared, I was shivering, but I had to hide the truth from them… They couldn't know what happened, they would clearly **** it should they learn about all my abilities and how I was transformed.

“And why should I answer you?" I asked defiantly, before suddenly feeling electricity running all over my body, instantly making me fall to my knees. “Argh!”

"Did you like that?" Liliana cackled sadistically. “You didn't even notice the electric collar we put around your neck?"

I was too preoccupied by where I was to notice it until now...

"Now, do you want to answer my question? Or do you want more?" She continued, her tone cold.

I was panting, the shock truly making me aware of my situation… How... the fuck am I... gonna get out of here...?

"Y-you asked... if I was a friend of that demon, right?" I weakly spoke.

"Yes, are you?"

"No... I... didn't even know... that a demon was here..." I honestly replied.

"Then why did you come here?"

“..." I stayed silent. That I shouldn't answer.

"I asked you a question." The collar activated again. My shivering intensified... "Why did you come here?"

"I... can't tell you..." I muttered.

"Wrong answer."

"Argh!!!" This discharge was enough to make me fall to the ground, my arms no longer being able to support me…

Liliana cackled even more. She was loving it… "Ah, that's pretty entertaining."

"Enter... taining?"

"Why, yes. It is quite fun to watch a demon's spirit slowly breaking."

"You're... disgusting..."

What I said touched a nerve, as another shock coursed through me. It hurt like hell, my body was numb all over.

"Hurgh..."

"A filthy demon is one to talk." Liliana said disdainfully.

"I'm not... a fucking... demon..."

She raised an eyebrow, slightly intrigued by what I said. "And what are you then?"

Fuck… I realised I shouldn't have said that. "D-don't you care... about Kira? Y-you're... hurting her..."

"We planned to give her one last chance, but she might not get it, after all. If anything, you being there is finally making her useful. We now have a fascinating new test subject to experiment with."

"You really... are a... piece of shit..." And another shock. This last burst brought me close to unconsciousness... "Ahhhh..."

"This is all for mankind's benefit. But filthy demons can't understand that."

Despite my weakened state, I could smell that the air suddenly became strange… "Time to take another nap, for now, since you're in no state to continue. We'll resume our discussion later."

Why... did I... think it... was a... good idea… I fell **** again, truly terrified of my situation...
