A shocking truth!

"Hahahaha!" Kokabiel laughed. "They really don't tell you maggots much, do they? Well, I suppose now is as good a time as any to let you all know..." His face split into a wide grin as he spoke with relish. "God is dead." There was a moment of stunned silence as Kokabiel dropped that bombshell. "He perished along with the fourth Devil King in the Great War."

"...no... That can't be right... How could God die?" Irina asked, shaking. "He... He is supposed to be all powerful! No one should have been able to kill him!"

"All powerful? Don't make me laugh!" Kokabiel cackled. "It's true, God was extremely powerful, quite possibly the mightiest of all deities, but omnipotent? What kind of fools could ever believe he was Almighty, when Devils, Fallen, and other things against His will exist? When such things even COULD exist? And omnipotence is a logical impossibility to begin with! Tell me, could an omnipotent being create an object so heavy, that even they couldn't lift it? Regardless of the answer, that one question is enough to debunk the very concept!" He sneered at all of them. "Obviously, it wasn't in the best interests of the factions to inform the humans of this... After all, Angels are dependent on the faith of humanity, and Devils on their propensity to make Devilish deals. Only the Fallen could have benefitted from the knowledge getting out. But Azazel refused to make that happen! The coward knew that if we revealed the truth, then it would provoke another war!"

"...if God is truly dead then... What is it I and the others believed in while we were locked in that facility?" Kiba questioned, stunned.

"...you lie..." Xenovia stated, in clear denial.

Kokabiel went on as if they hadn't spoken. "That bastard Azazel refused to let another war happen, and that was that! I couldn't stand it any longer! If the Fallen could only take over, we wouldn't have any dependence on those filthy apes!"

Asia, who had just finished stabilizing the members of Sona's Peerage who had been hurt was quivering from the revelation. "Then... If God is dead... Are we truly not blessed by his love anymore?"

"That's right!" Kokabiel cackled, clearly mad. "God is gone, and so is his grace!" He then gave a careless wave. "Of course, his system still functions, still provides protection and blessings, but without him around to maintain it, and Michael being the only one trying, it's accumulating more and more flaws. That sword," he added, pointing to Kiba's Balance Breaker. "Is the proof. At its peak, the system would never have allowed such a thing to exist." He clenched his fists."WAR IS COMING!" he declared with insane glee. "I'LL SHOW MICHAEL AND THE SATANS THAT THE FALLEN REIGN SUPREME! AZAZEL WILL HAVE **** BUT TO FIGHT AS WELL! IT WILL BE GLORIOUS!"

"...so... That bastard, whose System deemed me sinful from the moment I was born..." Raynare stated slowly, her head hung low. Both of her parents were Fallen Angels. But she had been judged for that, not allowed into Heaven. Even though she was innocent, at least, she had been upon being born. She had resented God for that unfairness. But now, God wasn't even around to take responsibility. No one around to blame or confront if she ever felt inclined to. It hit harder than she would have expected it to. Light flared up around her as she cried out, her emotions pushing her over the edge.

"Hoh?" Kokabiel mused, turning in amusement. "Seems something about learning the truth has pushed my brethren over the edge... Pity she's on the wrong side." The Light faded, and Raynare straightened, her wings flaring out... all four of them.
