Tying up some loose ends!

"Dave?" All Might asked as he pulled the tower apart, and pulled David out. "Are you alright?"

"...yes, I'll live... Toshi... I'm sorry," David told All Might again quietly. "I was... afraid. Scared to lose the Symbol of Peace... to lose your light... to lose you..." He then confessed everything he had done. And how things had spiraled out of control.

"...I see," All Might told him. "I understand, David... but there was never a need to worry..."

"I know that now... Midoriya... he's the one you hope will be the next Symbol of Peace, isn't he?" David asked, and they turned their gazes towards where Izuku and Melissa were heading towards them.

"Papa! We're all okay!" Melissa waved was she and Izuku stood on a hunk of metal, Izuku also waving. Everyone else moved towards the two, exchanging congratulatory words, though Bakugo was as standoffish as always.

"My device... my ideas... they were just ways to maintain the status quo..." David replied. "To keep things from changing... even though the future... it was standing right there in front of me the whole time... and not just in Midoriya. Just as he is your successor... Melissa will be mine..."

"...I think so too... she acted like a Hero herself all night... despite having little power, she risked her life along with everyone else," All Might nodded. "I think... they'll outshine our legacies... the question is, what do you intend to do now?" he asked as he helped David up.

David blinked as he staggered to his feet. "What... do you mean? I need to be punished... I deserve prison for my mistakes..."

"Don't be foolish!" All Might replied with a boisterous laugh. "Listen. You screwed up. Big time... but no one was seriously hurt, and the damages are all fixable. And you never had ill intent, nor did you know Sam intended to hire actual Villains... I think, with a quiet process, and a few pulled strings, we can get you probation, and the ability to keep working... even if you need to be supervised for a while. Besides, too much confidential information is involved in this matter. It would ultimately be best if your involvement was kept under wraps from the general public at least. I'll call up Nezu, see what he can do to ensure this is handled with the delicacy this requires..."

"...I don't deserve any leniency... but you're right, this is still something that shouldn't get out as of yet..." David sighed. "Not until Midoriya is more ready to take your place, at least... though... is Nezu the best idea? He might want to get ahold of the device..."

All Might paused, and sweat heavily at THAT particular prospect. "...we'll risk it," he still replied. "For now... let's all get off this roof, and everyone to the medical room for injuries..."
