Perhaps There Is More?
Kerendra had only just managed to clean herself somewhat, make herself a little more presentable, and force that half-hard shaft back into her trousers, when Lura, her companion-sentinel, returned. Smirking.
“It always amazes me how well the stern guard routine works on them,” Lura said.
Kerendra nodded. Was elbowed in the flank.
“Missed a spot. Missed several hundred spots. You’re washing the floor, not me,” Lura said. After a few moments, she continued. “Was she a good distraction? Deep… conversation?”
Kerendra sent Lura a tired look, but played along. “We got to the bottom of things.”
“Impressive. The little elves usually don’t have the stamina.”
“I quite like this one,” Kerendra said. She tried to wipe her trousers and abdomen with a piece of linen cloth, not to much success. “Sort of… hope she sticks around. She’s mad, but the right kind of mad. The kind I could see myself in-- with, for a while.”
Their conversation was interrupted with the door behind them clicked. The Priestess emerged, and the night’s real business was beginning.
Kerendra’s thoughts, nevertheless, remained with Brialla.
