My mom wasn’t one to sugarcoat things anymore and I truthfully would rather get this dealt with ASAP before it becomes a bigger issue. “Thanks mom! I’ll give her a call now.” I hung up the phone with her and hurried into the workout room to see Sam working up quite the sweat on the exercise bike. “Dr. Brown’s Medicine, how can I assist you?”

“Hi my name is Jaime Summers. I was an old patient of Dr. Brown and I was needing to schedule an appointment with her. I was hoping you had some availability for tomorrow,” I say as I make my way to the kitchen to grab some water for Sam.

“I don’t have a Jaime Summers in our system…” she says.

I hear a few clicks before she says, “Ah! There you are I’ll update it with your new last name. And luckily for you we have a last minute cancellation for this afternoon around 1pm if you are interested.” I smile as this couldn’t have worked out any better.

“Yes I’ll take that appointment for today. I’ll see you all soon!” I say as I hang up the phone and return to Sam with a glass of ice cold water. She takes it and takes a swig of it as I let her know the good news. “So I am going today since they had an appointment at 1pm so I gotta leave now.”
