Mackenzie starts a Rumble

Mackenzie's world tilted as she tumbled to the ground, her breath whooshing out of her lungs. Before she could scramble to her feet, Congo's grip tightened, and he hauled her the rest of the way into his enclosure. She screamed, thrashing against his unyielding grasp, but it was useless. He dragged her across the dirt floor, leaving a trail of her clothes and hair in his wake.

"Let me go, Congo! Please!" Mackenzie begged, her voice shaking with terror. But the gorilla merely snarled, his hot breath washing over her face as he held her pinned beneath his muscular body.

In that moment of desperation, Mackenzie's gaze fell upon Congo's hand, the one still clamped around her ankle. She spotted the laces of her boot, the ones she'd hastily tied earlier when she arrived at the sanctuary. A wild idea seized her, born of pure, adrenaline-fueled panic.

Reaching down, Mackenzie began frantically tugging at the laces, her fingers flying over the knot. Congo, sensing her movement, tightened his grip, but she didn't stop. The lace finally came undone, and with a burst of strength, Mackenzie yanked her foot free of the boot.

The gray sock peeled away, baring her foot to the warm air of the zoo. Congo's hand released her ankle as he looked down, puzzled, at the missing footwear. But before he could react, Mackenzie swiftly scrambled to her feet, putting distance between them as she hobbled on one stockinged foot and the bare other.

The gorilla let out a confused grunt, then tossed her abandoned boot aside with a dismissive flick of his wrist. He stood upright, beating his chest with a triumphant roar that echoed through the clearing. The other gorillas in their enclosures took up the chant, their deep voices joining in a thunderous celebration.

Mackenzie's heart raced as she watched the scene unfold, a chill running down her spine. She'd managed to escape physical harm, but now she found herself surrounded by a pack of enraged primates. Panic welled up inside her, threatening to overwhelm her senses
