Chapter 2 by Mr_anderson Mr_anderson

What's next?

The job

Jack read the letter several times, there was no way that it was anything else than a prank. The letter was a request to meet Abel Faust on his private island to talk further about the application for manager of Faust's Island. He applied a month ago, despite having only managed a small store in the past.

It was crazy, Abel Faust was the CEO of Faust Island, one of the richest man on the planet and one of the most influent. To the public eye, he was a charismatic businessman with friends in high places, but in reality, no one knew what he really had in mind. The island and himself were out of reach from the law, thanks to his connections, and some would say to the dirt he had on powerful people. It would be crazy to even think of going against him, as everything could always go worse, and looking into his past was pointless, since he seemingly appeared from thin air, decades ago.

Still, Jack couldn't ignore the possibility for it to be true. Missing the opportunity because of the fear to be fooled would be a terrible mistake. So, he took his car and made the one-hour drive to the Island, until he reached the famous bridge that led to it. Jack never went to the place, but seeing it growing in his field of view as he was driving on the road above the sea, was like being on the path of reaching heaven.

Finally, he reached the end of the road and parked his car in the parking lot underground. He then went to the reception in the middle of the island, several people were welcoming visitors. Most of them were dressed in revealing clothes, one would say, slutty. But that was the idea of the Island, freedom and pleasure. Next to them, he looked quite uptight.

Finally, getting to one of the receptionists, the person looked at him with a smile.

"So, you're Jack."

"How do you know?!" He asked, shocked.

"You're the only one looking like you're coming for an interview. Mr Faust is on the Pandemonium, in the port."

"Oh, ok, Thanks."

Jack left the reception and went to the port, like the person said. Spotting the biggest boat, he found the pandemonium, as expected. Of course, the ship had two massive dudes guarding the dock.

"Good morning sirs, I'm here to see Mr. Faust, I'm Jack Smith."

The two gorillas didn't move an inch and Jack started to worry when a voice came from the ship.

"He can come in, he's expected."

It was a woman, on the bridge, flat chested, no curves, and yet, wearing the most outrageous dress he'd ever seen. It was open on the front so wide that it barely covered her nipples and went as down as the lower part of her belly, almost revealing her crotch.

The two brutes finally moved to let him pass, and he climbed to the bridge of the ship, meeting the woman that now he was closer looked minuscule, probably around five feet for eighty-five pounds.

"Follow me. Mr. Faust is in his office." She said bluntly.

"Yes, of course." Jack answered, following her in the boat.

She led him through the luxury of the ship, passing by expensive painting and sculptures, and opened a door without knocking.

"Here is Mr. Smith, sir."

The room was only lit by candles and the man in the middle of it, looking in his late fifties, put down a glass of wine on a table.

"So, Mr. Smith, what do you think of my company?"

The door closed behind Jack, as the interview started.

He couldn't give the classic answer about how the company had the fast growth in history and reached unbelievable levels. It was too phoned and would probably be used by any competitor. Actually, any basic answer wouldn't suffice, he needed to bring a better point of view.

"I think your company reflect really well the need of modern society, bringing to people a mirror that reflect needs they forgot they had. It doesn't bring surface level demand, it goes to the core of humankind and fulfil a desire long forgotten. That's why it succeeded better than the concurrency, because it's not shallow, it deals with the deepest part of the psyche."

Mr. Faust smiled a little bit, which made Jack jubilate mentally. He scored a point.

"I see, I got the right one then." Mr. Faust said.

"The right one, sir?"

"I'm taking some time out of the business, Mr. Smith. You will be managing the park in my stead. Don't worry, I'll leave two aids to help you."

"I'm hired?!"

"That was never a question."

Jack couldn't believe it, it wasn't even an interview. He was hired without even being met. That was insane, he couldn't understand, so he had to ask.

"I'm sorry, but why me, sir?"

Mr. Faust let out a chuckle.

"What? You think you can't do it?"

"No, no, I'll do it! I can do it! Im just..."

"Then the question is irrelevant."

"Yes, sir... Thank you, sir."

Mr. Faust shut him off and Jack didn't want to push his luck more.

"You can dispose, Cassiope will introduce you to your aids."

Jack left the room, still unable to process what just happened. On the other side of the door, the small woman, most probably Cassiope, showed him the way out of the boat.

"Your main job will be to supervise the logistics and the incomes of the Island. Making sure everything goes smoothly, and no issues causes tensions in the process. You will also be dealing with clients and heads of department. To help you process all that, Mr Faust appointed you Crystal and Arson, they know the way around the facilities."

"Crystal and Arson?"

Their name sounded like strippers, so Jack let their name slip.

"Yes, here they are."

In an office close to the docks, two women, looking almost identical except for their makeup and hairdo, were waiting silently. One of them had curly blond hair with blueish makeup and clear blue eyes, while the other had straight blond hair with red and yellow makeup with fiery eyes.

"This is the new assistant, Mr. Faust appointed." Cassiope told them.

"Hi, I'm Jack, nice to meet you." He said, giving his hand.

The two women didn't show a hint of expression as they both shaked his hand.

"Crystal." The one with blue makeup said.

"Arson." The one with red makeup said.

"I'll let you in their care, then."

With that, Cassiope left them, to go back on the ship.

How's the work?
