Well enough to scrape by!

Despite Bakugo throwing the ball first thing as a demonstration, Aizawa had them circle back to it, with Bakugo having done his turn already. Instead, they started with a short distance dash. Denki performed pretty well on that, considering he didn't have a Quirk that boosted his speed. Many others didn't have one either, but he saw some creative Quirk uses, like Bakugo propelling himself with his explosions, and Mina skating on her acid. That was pretty cool. He was glad he spent most of his life doing a decent amount of training for his body. Then there was the standing long jump, and grip strengths.

He took note of everyone's abilities as he performed his best. He was rather concerned about that Midoriya guy, he looked like a nice fellow, and he was clearly lagging, and Bakugo clearly hated him for some reason, if his glee at seeing Midoriya failing was any indication. Hagakure obviously didn't have anything that boosted her physical abilities, but she was doing pretty well too. Then there was the short guy, who seemed at a massive disadvantage at first glance, but he proved able to improvise with his odd Quirk. Those balls growing out of his head clearly had useful properties, and he was the only one who really excelled in the side steps test.

They finally came back to the ball test, and Denki got a decent distance, putting his whole body into the throw. He'd played on the baseball team in both his middle and high schools, so he did the best on that out of all those who didn't have a way of increasing distance with their Quirks. He, and everyone else was amazed at Uraraka using her Quirk to basically put the ball into orbit. She was only given one meter more than whoever got the longest distance though, which looked to be Momo, who just made a cannon to shoot the ball out of. Then Midoriya took his turn... and looked stunned at a pathetic throw he made. "...um, what's going on?" Denki asked the others when Aizawa was lecturing Midoriya out of earshot of them.

"Who cares? That Quirkless loser will be out soon," Bakugo sneered.

"What are you talking about? Of course he has a Quirk!" Iida snapped at the asshole, and Kyoka beckoned Denki closer.

"Apparently the teacher cancelled out his Quirk, because it strains his body to the point of broken bones, and he was about to break his arm," she whispered to him, able to overhear it.

"...well, shit..." Denki remarked. Suddenly, Midoriya's training to clean up the beach made more sense, but that kind of hasty strength training could only go so far compared to doing some training for years. It must have gotten him to a bare minimum needed to handle his Quirk without losing limbs. Aizawa let Midoriya have another throw, given his interference... and Midoriya got a damn good distance, only using a finger, which seemed to be broken.

Bakugo for some reason proceeded to lose his shit, and charged Midoriya out of nowhere at this. Denki was about to take the excuse to zap him when Aizawa caught the volatile young man with his scarves, which were clearly stronger than they looked. Denki couldn't help but laugh. "Heh, a few more wrappings, and Mr. Literally Explosive Temper would look like a mummy," he remarked to Momo, who giggled and nodded in agreement.

"We could always turn them into girls like Eiko, and have them kiss and make up," Momo chuckled under her breath, which Denki couldn't help but consider.

"After class, I'll wish for pictures of what they'll look like if we do that again," he whispered back, and she nodded. The tests proceeded, and upon being wrapped up, Aizawa showed their overall scores. Denki instantly felt bad when he saw Midoriya's name at the bottom, having checked that spot first. He scraped by at 16th place.

"Oh, by the way... I was lying about expelling the lowest performer," Aizawa shut the display off, shocking everyone. "It was a rational deception to make you perform your best," he added, grinning like a total troll. Credit where it was due, it had worked like a charm, Denki had been scared stiff.
