On their way

Jean looked back once more, her gaze resting on Ethan as he peacefully slept, unaware of the storm of worry swirling inside her. She felt a deep, protective instinct rise within her, urging her to do whatever it took to safeguard him. Turning away from Ethan's tranquil face, she faced Scott, her expression tense with concern. "What are we really going to do?” she asked softly. "I’m afraid he’s going to try to repress his ability entirely, to hide it away out of fear or shame."

Scott hesitated for a moment, running a hand through his hair as he considered her words. His brow furrowed in thought, a serious look settling on his face. He sighed deeply and said, "Well, if said ability is capable of enslaving anyone, perhaps it’s not the worst idea to keep it under control or even suppress it. We need to think about the consequences of unleashing such power."

Jean's eyes widened in shock. "Scott! You can’t seriously be suggesting we repress him completely!" she exclaimed. Scott thought for a moment before replying, "I know it’s not ideal, but I want what’s best for him. We can’t **** him to use his powers if he's not ready; that will only create more problems and hurt him in the process. Instead, we should support him—let him know we’re there for him, regardless of what he chooses. We need to give him the space to discover his strength, at his own pace."

Jean’s gaze softened as she looked once more at Ethan, the peaceful rise and fall of his chest a testament to his guilt and vulnerability. Her mind raced with thoughts—her mission with the X-Men was always to guide young mutants into their full potential, to help them harness their abilities without fear. Watching Ethan repress his powers out of fear went against everything she believed in. It felt wrong, instinctively.

She stepped closer to Ethan’s side, a gentle smile crossing her face. Her heart swelled with a fierce protectiveness. She silently vowed to do everything in her power to help Ethan reach his true potential, no matter what it took. Her ultimate goal was to guide him—show Scott that the best way to support Ethan was not through suppression, but by unleashing his true power. To help him become everything he was meant to be—perhaps, even to become the Ruler and Master of the whole Universe, if that was his destiny. With that thought in her mind, Jean clenched her fists subtly, determined to fight for Ethan’s future, whatever it might hold.
