Very well, though Ashe isn't

When the Black Eagles and the Blue Lions gathered together in the training hall, the two groups started getting along pretty well. In addition to Dimitri and Edelgard being pretty friendly with each other, there was a lot of interactions the two had that helped things run smoothly.

When they split up into one on one duels, they were spread out pretty evenly. Edelgard and Dimitri were already sparring with one another, and most of the rest of the class ended up splitting off into compatible opponents. Annette was dueling with Dorothea in Magic, Petra was matching well with Ingrid's spearmanship, and Leonie was giving her all to kick Sylvain's ass.

With an approving nod in general, Byleth, Hanneman, and Catherine split up to look over each students work thus far and come up with ways to help them improve. Byleth stopped to give advice to multiple students, helping Ingrid deal with Petra's axe expertise, before stopping by Ashe and Bernadetta's area. His presence was soothing the perpetually nervous girl and helping her relax a bit, but Ashe seemed to be having trouble keeping up.

"Is something wrong, Ashe?" Byleth asks the gray haired student. Ashe looked up at him, before bowing his head. "It's about Lord Lonato. I heard your team was assigned to eliminate him?"

Byleth nodded, and Ashe hung his head. "Well, Lord Lonato is the one who adopted me. He's always been a pious man, and a good man. He even nominated me for the officers academy. I just... don't understand why he'd turn against the church." He shook his head, his voice anxious and disbelieving, along with what felt like an extra half dozen emotions.

Byleth definitely felt his heart going out to him. He would have felt pretty conflicted if he had had to fight Jeralt all of a sudden when he was working with the mercenary band. Bernadetta had even paused in her firing to look at him with sympathy. But could he do anything to help?
