How does training proceed?
Issei moves on to magic training!
Issei groaned as he laid on his back, covered in welts. "Not bad... You have a surprisingly high pain tolerance," Kiba remarked to Issei, twirling his wooden sword again.
"Yeah... Act like a perv near a bunch of girls, and you get mobbed pretty often," Issei admitted. "I'm fairly used to taking a beating... It's mainly the shit Koneko yeets at me, and Akeno electrocuting me that makes me terrified of evasion training..."
"Ah," Kiba nodded.
"Very good, Asia!" they heard Akeno say, and they turned to see Asia holding an orb of magical energy a bit larger than a baseball in her hands. "You have a knack for this! Even the bishop piece doesn't fully account for that!"
"Thanks," Asia nodded, blushing, but smiling with some pride.
Akeno then turned towards Issei, and said, "If you're physically tired, then let's move on to teaching you magic before you... Ahem, use your little recharge exploit," Akeno suggested.
Issei nodded and sat up. "Alright. So, how do I use magic?" Akeno began instructing him, and he mentally strained to try to force the power out.
"No, not like that!" Akeno chided him gently. "You need to focus, try to relax a little bit, let the aura flow and gather in a place you guide it to."
Following her advice, Issei finally succeeded in producing the sphere... About the size of a marble. "...talk about dinky..." he grumbled.
"Magic is all about your imagination," Akeno told him. "Try and think of a specialty or interest. If you imagine something all the time, you might be able to manifest a spell or technique with it more quickly."
Issei thought about it, before he had a few ideas come to mind.
