Plans for the future

The two of you munched on the pastries, you mulling over what Alice had said and Alice scheming for what to do first today.

"We probably need a better backstory if we're going to settle into the neighborhood and pull this off long term. The assistant bit was fun but not really sustainable if you're going to do anything independent. I have a history but we're going to have to invent one for you Miss Penny."

You welcomed the distraction and the two of you pitched ideas back and forth.

"Maybe I'm your distant cousin from out of town?"

"That's a little too incestuous for some of the things we're going to get into, also why would my cousin be rich? How about you won the lottery and we met at one of those shady rich people parties?"

"Don't want to be confused with the Epstein or Diddy crowd. How about you found me frozen in a block of ice during an arctic expedition and you thawed me out as a side project?"

Alice cracks up at the image as you monkey about like a cave woman. The mood is jovial but quickly Alice returns to the problem.

"Penny, I don't like this, even if we come up with a story how are we going to get the legal details together? Don't we need like lawyers and id changes?"

You frown.

"Wait, we're rich, can't we pay people for this kind of thing? Why did we bother becoming rich if we still have to solve our own problems? We have client lender confidentiality or whatever with Fred right? Lets see what he has to say."

"Client lender confidentiality? Is that a real thing?"

"We're paying his firm very well for their discretion. If we confessed a **** to them they'd help us hide the bodies while putting a defense attorney on retainer."

"I guess he's going to have to be brought into it somehow or else the name on your credit card is going to be hard to explain."
