Black Widow Versus the Collector

There was a part of Natasha Romanov that admired the Collector’s work or rather how he went about researching his prey and trapping them with the skills of a Master. The way he infiltrates their home under the guise of an exterminator, placing hidden cameras and wires into their home so he could study their habits. His traps reflected his targets by utilizing their habits against them and preparing for nosy neighbors, police, and other uninvited guests. All to ensure that no one leaves alive without his permission and yet there was one thing the Collector neglected- Her.

Natasha had seen the carnage of course, examined the traps, and studied what was left of the victims.

After what happened with the Red Room and the Accord Natasha realized she wanted to keep doing good. So rather than join her compatriots in Europe busting crime rings she decided to return home and deal with the monster.

She thought she was hunting the Collector, finding his nest, his tricks, and saving his victims before anyone was harmed. A small win but they started to add up, enough for Natasha Romanov to believe she was the Hunter not the prey, slowly being lured to a false sense of security.

Lured to another trap house Natasha was confident she could rescue the captives and finally capture the Collector. That was when he struck, knocking Natasha out while in the process of saving one of his victims.

A simple cloth dosed with chloroform was pressed against the lower half of her face, the hero tired from her ordeal and was unable to resist as she slowly fell asleep.
