Clothes Fail Short Stories

“I’m home! Come get your crap!” Marcus said, dumping a bunch of bags full of laundry by the front door. Mumbling about the “stupid” broken washer and losing a dumb coin flip.

“Ah thank you Jeeves” Renee said in a faux British accent, giggling at her little brother's misfortune. Knowing she’d also hate sacrificing some of her free time just to wash her family's dirty laundry. Though she didn’t feel any pity, after all she had school, softball, student council, and just starting work. Leaving her with far less free time then her unemployed brother who spends half of every day and all weekend playing games. Seeing him actually have to do something for once was actually pretty funny.

Well it was… until Renee noticed one of the bags she’d given Marcus wasn’t with the rest. Trying not to panic she checked the other bags to see if Marcus just stuffed it together after washing. The more she looked the more panicked she became.

After tearing into her mothers and even her fathers bags and not finding what she was looking for Renee now furious stomped her way to Marcus’s room.

*BOOM!*

“Alright dumbass where is my underwear!?” Renee screamed after kicking in the door.

“Hey! Huh? What are you talking about!?” Marcus asked, confused.

“Marcus, I gave you three bags. Colors, whites, and underwear. Now there’s two bags and NO UNDERWEAR!” Renee explained.

“I um uhh may-maybe it’s in my car?” the poor teenager fumbled. Scared witless by seeing his older sister angrier than he had in a long while. Little did he know he was in for a lot more after a frantic and useless search.

Hours later Renee was facing the reality of losing the majority of her underwear options. The security cameras showed that one of the laundromats workers had confused the lost bag for trash and tossed it in the dumpster. Quickly picked up and hauled off by a garbage truck. Never to be found again, Renee not even sure she’d be able to wear them if found after being smothered in god knows what.

And worst of all… she couldn’t tell her parents. Marcus pulling out a long held “I owe you” from when he covered for her with their parents. He’d certainly get his ass chewed out for losing his sister's clothes because he was careless. The only condolence was him promising to get a job to help replace the massive hole in her wardrobe.

So, considering she just started working and got paid every other week, she’d have to survive on three pairs of panties, two bras, and two bikinis for at least two weeks.

What could go wrong?
