Go to bed. OUR bed.

"Nah, we'll go to bed."

"So soon?" I replied to Katia.

"Yeah. I mean, not to sleep, of course" She chuckled. "We have lots and lots to talk about! But of course, we can't do that with a guy present, can we? And we'll be sleeping in the bedroom either way, won't we?"

She was right with the first part. Even if we weren't little girls and boys, gossiping was more natural among cousins and such. It would definitely be weird if they started talking about the misadventures of one uncle, or the dementia of one grandma right in front of me.

Now, the second part confused me.

"What? Why would you be sleeping there?"

"Duh!" She let out, a bit condescendingly. "You have only one big sofa. Not nearly enough for two people. Your bedroom definitely has a big bed. Big enough for three people. So logically, you are the one who will be sleeping on the couch. You won't make Sarah do that while you share the bed with twins, right?"

Why did she make it sound so weird? Sarah even squinted at me, as if she were suspicious. Although she later giggled, so I understood she was joking.

"No, of course not!"

"So, do you have a guest room?"

"No, we... We don't." The apartment wasn't big enough to have a whole room for guests.

"So that's it!" She sounded so smug.

I was about to tell her she could sleep in a motel while her sister took the couch, if she wanted, but Brenda put her hand on my knee to try to calm me down.

"Sorry, she's too... Rough. We really appreciate you letting us stay. If there were more space... B-but Katia's right..."

Now, coming from Brenda, I saw it under a different light. Yes. It was not like Sarah would be sharing beds with strangers, it was her cousins! And for the looks of it, they loved each other dearly.

"Alright. I guess it does make sense." I nod.

"Yay! How I missed sleeping with you two!" Sarah squealed, jumping to the twins to hug them. Then, she quickly gave me a pillow, and the three of them went inside, all giggling and chatting.

At least they left me the rest of the pizza, and the blanket they had used during the movie. I lay down on the sofa and covered myself with the blanket. It had the combined aromas of Sarah, Katia, and Brenda. It smelled of floral perfume, and... and there was a little, more sour scent. Like... sweat? It smelled of Sarah's sweat? I wasn't very sure about it, but I didn't mind.

I could still hear the girls. I didn't understand them, of course, only mumbling and whispering. I wonder what gossips they might be sharing, or if they may be talking about me. I didn't mind the noise, as it was like background sound, yes. What do they call it? White noise? Hearing their voices chuckling, laughing, panting, moaning... wait... what?
