What's next?
Okay
Nadia needed to get out. Xiao Mei's face was riddled with shame. A nervous smile. Red tear faced. Nadia sighed.
“Okay,” she turned and walked away.
“N-Nadia…” Xiao Mei said.
Nadia didn’t answer. This was goodbye. Her friend, betraying her. Leaving her in the lurch. Nadia didn’t want Xiao Mei to die, but being left alone felt horrible. She felt so alone.
Nadia got her bags back from the concierge. They kept some of them while she was in the lounge. The eyepatched detective Masson appeared around the corner. Stabbed in the eye by Xiao Mei. Wearing a grey trench coat. Pointy chin.
“Miss Nadia… of the Aryan bloodline…” he bowed.
“What do you want?” Nadia said.
“I understand that the oriental pixie has abandoned you…” he said.
Nadia sighed, “Yeah… We need to go back to Paris…”
“Already… I was thinking of tasting a bit of the Kung Fu Chicken… If you know what I mean…” he said.
Nadia shook her head, “Please stop talking like that… It’s racist… We have to leave… I want to protect her and leaving is the only way,” she said.
