Police & Pills
What the actual fuck?!
Ralph turned himself into the police. Sasha rushed there. Glamorous look. The police was surprised that such a beautiful woman turned up for the sad sack.
“What happened?” Sasha asked.
“We would like to ask you some questions about Ralph if that is okay?” An officer said, “I am Officer Miriam Blake.”
Sasha was weary. She hoped Ralph didn’t do something stupid… God… Why am I always responsible for dumbasses?!
They went to a closed room. Coffee. It felt like one of those cop shows, except you could smell the stale chemical smell of the room. Coffee was pretty shit.
“This conversation will be recorded. Answer honestly, or you may be obstructing an investigation. Does Ralph seem like a dangerous individual to you?” Miriam asked. Her green eyes, piercing.
“No… Not really… He is depressed for sure… But not dangerous…” Sasha said, “Can I see him?”
“Only his lawyer can see him at this point… We have him detained…” Miriam said.
“Okay…” Sasha said. Dangerous?! What the fuck did you do, Ralph?!
“Can we proceed with the next question?” Miriam pressed.
Sasha nodded. Sasha described Ralph as a meek, well-intentioned, and sensitive man. He had just been divorced and not coping well. Sasha was an escort that he had been hiring for intimacy and sometimes just to talk.
“Has Ralph ever talked about killing someone?” Miriam asked.
“What? No way,” Sasha said, “Why did he kill someone?”
Ralph…
Miriam put down a packet of sleeping pills. The name on the prescription. It was Sasha’s pills.
“Did you give these to him?” Miriam asked.
“No… He must have nicked them from me,” Sasha said, “They are expired anyway… Four years old… I haven’t had insomnia in years…”
“Why are you holding onto them…” Miriam asked.
Some things get lost at the bottom of your purse. If Ralph had been digging in her purse. Who knows what he found. Creepy asshole…
“Just in case… I used to have bad anxiety… My family disowned me… So back then I had trouble sleeping…” Sasha said.
“Anxiety… Well… We might have more questions for you later… Please co-operate. We can’t let you see Ralph as you are neither family nor his lawyer. But we will keep in contact…” Miriam said.
Sasha left the police interrogation room. Harriet was there. Except she looked remarkably normal. A pink and grey hoodie-sweatpants deal. Pony. No makeup.
“What are you doing here?” Sasha said. She must have been waiting for nearly 2 hours.
“Ice cream was on the agenda… But I’ll settle for being paid,” she said.
