Go To Work With Stepdad

The worst part of being shaved wasn't how smooth you felt - like velvet. It wasn't how delicate your skin was, brushing against the inside of your blanket as you slept that night.

No, the worst part about being shaved was having to look at your own legs as you pulled your panty-like underwear up them. But this morning you couldn’t find any underwear in your dresser. You could have sworn you'd had a pink pair in there yesterday. So you grabbed a pair of shorts and put them on without underwear then went downstairs.

Oh well. At least it was Saturday, which meant no school. You'd have to suffer through gymnastics, but that was a problem for future-you. And it was still better than having to go to school.

You go downstairs, put on your apron, and start cooking like normal. Making sure Jeff has a hot meal and coffee ready for him when he wakes up is always a priority - otherwise he might give you a spanking which you definitely don’t want with the clothes or, lack there of, that you have on.

He comes downstairs just as you finish the coffee, and looks hurried.

"Mornin' sport! Almost ready with breakfast? We gotta make it a quick one if we want to get changed and make it in on time."

We?

You slide a few pancakes onto a plate and set it in front of him, completely forgetting what you are wearing. "Um, what do you mean, Sir? Get changed?" You knew Jeff only went into the office every now and then, and when he did, he was pretty relaxed about the dress code. He wore jeans most days.

Jeff nods and starts scarfing down his meal, beckoning for you to do the same, even though you hadn't finished cooking the full batch of batter yet. "Mhm! I told you, right? For Halloween my office is doing a take-your-kid-to-work day? Everyone dresses up, they do a whole party. It's fun! But we gotta get into our costumes ASAP so we don't hit traffic."

What?! This was your first time hearing about this! Take-your-kid-to-work day? How old did he think you were? Wasn't that for, like, toddlers?

Apparently your apprehension showed on your face, because Jeff added, "Don't worry, it's not a daycare thing. It's more like a party-while-working. The other 'kids' are around your age. And they all make it in every year, so you are too."

That made you feel a little better, but it was still weird. Especially going with your step-dad. "I don't have a costume, though. So, seriously, I can just stay here, and chill until-"

Jeff cuts you off with a wave of his hand and a triumphant look on his face. "That's where you're wrong, pal! I swung by the costume store in the mall earlier today and picked us out a couple that will work perfectly together!"

"The mall? You mean the new one with the bowling alley and IMAX theater?"

"No... They have an IMAX theater? I went to the old one by the Cracker Barrel."

"Oh... the creepy mall..." What little hope you had suddenly plummets. "Well I don’t have any underwear any way so I should just stay home and do laundry."

Jeff grins. " I think your costume comes with underwear and besides you'll make the perfect..."
