As Pat disappeared up the stairs, Ross finally spoke freely.

"What the fuck are we still doing here? We should just take her script and leave!"

"I don't know about you," Andrew said, "but after the day I've had I'm getting plastered."

Madison offered a more pragmatic explanation. "Ross, babe, this poor thing has been sitting around this house losing her mind for weeks. I want to hear her out. Besides, we should find out if she's told anyone about her investigation."

Ross took another draw from his whiskey. "She's not really losing her mind," he said. "She doesn't have a mind. It's all scripts, right?"

"Right. But still, it couldn't hurt to hear her out, right? Plus we get to enjoy some nice whiskey while we do."

"And I get my rocks off," Andrew said woozily, setting his empty glass on the coffee table. "What the fuck is taking her so long?"

Pat came down the stairs as if summoned, holding a small black box. "Here you go!" she said chipperly. "This is-"

"More!" Andrew said, holding up his glass. She smiled graciously and took it into the kitchen. "And bring the bottle," he shouted after her. While Pat followed his orders, Ross started to look through the case and describe its contents to Madison.

"There are a few mods in here, but mostly it's full scripts. Christ, some of these names... 'Detach', 'Pussy Gouge', yeesh. I don't even want to know what 'Agony Trance' is."

"Pretty self-explanatory." Pat entered the room with a glass and a large bottle of very expensive liquor. Setting both in front of Andrew, who immediately began drinking from the glass, she turned to Ross and Madison. "I kinda like Pat 1.0, even though Cecil doesn't use it much."

Ross prompted her to continue, so she did. Sitting next to him on the couch, she plucked a script from the middle of the index. "Pat 1.0 is like if he was married to a really mean, bitchy, selfish version of me. Cecil's so funny - he says it's his favorite, but I've only seen him actually bind it a couple of times. He acts like he uses it all the time. He even talks about her - 'Old Pat told me I was gaining weight,' or 'Old Pat gave me shit about my drinking today'."

"It's you," Andrew blurted as he refilled his glass. "It's 'cause he's putting the script in your mouth."

"What would be the point of that?" Pat asked. "Proving I'm not a golem? Maybe he takes it to work or something. God, I miss him. Anyway, it might be fun to bind Pat 1.0. What do you guys think?"
