Rawrsponsibility

I should have killed everyone in the pony… Even my wife… Would have I done it if she was taking out the trash? Greg stood on the balcony. Looking over at the city. Nadia… I miss you.

Nadia smoked buckets of cigarettes. Enough so that she started to cough a bit. Expensive hobby. 22 Euros every couple of days for a couple packs. Tar stained fingers. She smoked indoors and even Febreze couldn’t mask the smell. Lingered like a ghost.

Nadia wondered what would have happened if she had taken the trash out that night. It was a normal night. Alice was making brownies for their evening tea session. Nadia had found the kitchen in a mess and the brownies overcooked on the counter. She was always the same. Half-finished. But full of love.

Nadia sat out on her porch on the 19th. Cigarette in fingers. Looked to the left for Alice. She would turn and smile – also smoking a cigarette. Make a joke.

“Someone tried to pay in hugs last week. I accepted,” Alice said.

“Well a good hug is hard to come by,” Nadia laughed.

“We’re married now,” Alice said.

Nadia blushed, “What?”

Alice blushed and laughed, “Oh I don’t me and you… I meant the customer… Unless you want to get married, then I’ll totally divorce the other guy…”

A big smile on her face. Nadia smiled. She wanted to reach out and kiss her. But Alice wasn’t here. She was gone.

Nadia looked through her phone. A video of Alice. She had almost forgotten the details of Alice’s face. Different to how she remembered her. Alice sucked a Pringles can onto her face and made funny noses. She looked like she had a beak.

“Gosh… What are you doing?” Nadia laughed.

“I am a pringle pelican,” she flapped her arms. She was wearing the Rawrsponsibility sweater.

Rawrponsibility is knowing when to rawr. When to stand up and fight, and when to surrender.

Nadia looked at the Iron Warthog. She had him cornered. I will avenge you.
